#1 will need a volunteer to start 2026 topic unless you just want to change date on this topic again

#2 Adam Stern reports
Commissioner Steve Phelps is leaving NASCAR ahead of the 2026 season, according to an official announcement from the sanctioning body this morning

Wolfer question
Fall-out from trial?

Question 2, yes, unfortunately after the trial he had lost all credibility within the garage. I heard that this was coming. Also, look for the playoff format to be released here soon.

Question 1, I don't mind with either starting a new thread or just renaming this one?

Once we get to the Shoot out we can start a new thread. Maybe around the 19th of January
It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great.

Sounds good to me, anything ya'll want to do. I'm ready to see cars on track, already got our races booked for the year.

Which ones are you going to?

Martinsville, Richmond, Bristol, Darlington, and Charlotte. I've been a season ticket holder at Charlotte for many of years. Wife has put a cap on races.

I'm going to Daytona and Darlington. May try to squeeze in the 600 in Charlotte

I love Darlington great place. I hate to say this but I've never been to Daytona. I need to go, my FIL works with NASCAR and he's always telling me that I need to go. Have fun down there!

When they had Speedweeks me and some buddies would spend just about the entire month of Feb. in a RV in the infield at Daytona.

Congrats on being able to get back down there for Daytona again.

10-4 on the Speedweeks memory, I knew many people in North Carolina back in the day, that would do the same (or at least the two full weeks when the Cup teams were down there).

It was blast. I think infield parking in the 80's for an RV was less than $50 a day. We all had race tickets but we'd end up sitting on top of the RV is chairs

I do miss the speedweeks leading up to Daytona. We used to go down for a few weeks prior and stay in our RV. A bunch of us would always stay in the same area, back near the airport outside the track.

Would venture over to New Smyrna Speedway and watch some of the other races throughout the week and man those were some fun times. Great racing.

I still watch most of the Truck series races and Xfinity and tend to catch most of the Cup series races. But, I mainly follow more short track racing these days, following the late model races and CARS tour stuff. I go as often as possible.

I love the Cars Tour. Harvick, Marks, Burton, and JR have done a great job with that series.

They really have, they've brought a lot of attention back to a somewhat dying sport. The only problem with the CARS Tour is that it is slowly pricing itself out of a normal driver/team's budget. The price of running a late model stock car in the Tour is way out of many late model guy's budget now. Those cars are ridiculous in terms of cost and upkeep. But, it is definitely great to see the sport making some.noise again in the short track scene.

Many of the every day late model teams are having to drop back to the charger classes, which is fun too.

IHRA has been buying up and leasing tracks here in the last few months too. They just bought The Rock and are hoping to put together their own late model series.

I hate it as well. But unfortunately that's how auto racing is. The charger class is fun to watch. I always enjoy them at Wake County.
