I like seeing Blaney on that front row with SVG...

The 12 has a long race ahead. Really would like to see him win.

Held him off on the opening start and first set of laps. I liked seeing that.

I'm working on my computer doing actual "work" work and aren't like watching every second of the visual - but damn, did you hear Diffey's excitement during that first half of that initial lap... I would have sworn that SVG had taken the lead, and then I look up and nowhere close to it.*

Also - who short-pitted first Blaney or SVG? Whatever that sequence was, Blaney was still out front afterwards, but I missed that part (thus the question).

*honestly, I only put this in here to f with cary (even though it is true ).

Not sure on the pit cycle. I have MRN lol....I figured.

Blaney and SVG are on the same pit cycle. Everyone has to make one more stop. Blaney, SVG, Busch and that group will have to go first

ETA: SVG pitting now. Blaney stayed out.

SVG wins Watkins Glen by 11+ seconds

Agree. Heck, he could have almost gotten out of the car and walk that thing to the start / finish line. Lol

And this is exactly why there shouldn't be 5 Road Course races in a season (with the Charlotte Roval arguably considered a 6th).

*Guy averages 30+ place finishes on ovals, but now has won 4 races this year due to NASCAR's stupidity.

Tied for the most wins with the 11 I believe but SVG is 24th in points. Crazy

But chase Elliott has 1 win and 7 top 5 finishes and is 2nd in points ahead of Denny Hamlin who has 3 win also. Crazy

I don't disagree but why do you think it's this way? Is it because they see the popularity of F1 and think they can copy some of it with the road courses?

When I was a kid it was Watkins Glen and Sonoma. That was it. But I'm old now. I guess it's got to change to stay relevant.

I've heard that the number of road courses may come down from where they are now. I hope so.

All that gets rectified when the playoffs start and the points reset, and I know you meant 4 wins instead of 3...

Some hack that regularly rides around at the back of the pack with the likes of the Haley's, Gilliland's, Ty Dillon's, Gragson's, Custer's, Herbst's and no list would be complete without adding in the Cody Ware's of the NASCAR world that is, definitely shouldn't be someone going into the playoffs with the most points.

The answer to that question is to look at the DNF column.

Additional comments are that Kyle Busch has been somewhat better recently and is up to 15th in points, but he has two race winners behind him and he has a big deficit to catch the 14th place car who is also a race winner. Nice late regular season rally, but still no way to make the playoffs short of a win.

I agree, I really only see 1 new potential race winner. Daytona. Although keep an eye on the 3 at Richmond

Yeah I meant 4. Thanks for catching that

No way. Collarbone will heal fine, but not in that timeframe and there would be a lot of force being applied to the upper body area on any track, let alone a Daytona or Talladega.

I was wondering how much arm movement would affect the driver?

I believe it's his left arm. Seems he had a plate inserted to secure the collarbone. Seems it would be painful. Possible he could start the race then come out at first caution or sooner
ncsupack1
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I would assume that if he is a no go, NASCAR would grant him a waiver?

That would be the main issue. I could somewhat understand a cortisone type shot (if that would even help in this instance), but they sure aren't going to let anybody start a race taking a traditional pain killer medication. Left side is better than Right side though as far as the G-forces, you would think?

Absolutely. Especially at a place like Daytona
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Today Mike Forde said that NASCAR hasn't summitted any rule on it. I did hear from a friend that is in the industry that maybe some team owners told their drivers, that NASCAR didn't want to see it. But no " rule " on it.

We all saw how SVG handled victory lane Sunday. More drivers will follow going forward.

He sure did. And yes, I wouldn't be surprised if more drivers think twice where that window net is...lol
