Sucks for oldies like Storm and I get it but it's the right thing. NASCAR will still be around when you're gone buddy. Got to meet the young folk at their level.
It doesn't suck for me... I'll just watch something else for two more weeks (maybe longer) and be just fine.

1.77 is what sucks.

Heard where Denny Hamlin will miss the race Sunday due to the birth of his child. Ryan Truex will be replacing him.

I like to casually watch the Cup races when they are on Sundays, and I think it's pretty stupid on their part to take them off of TV for five weeks... my stance is pretty simple actually.

But there are tons of options to watch other things on TV on Sundays instead of NASCAR, so it's certainly not a life or death thing for me by any means.

I'm probably not as old as you think I am, but I am in that 55+ demographic that hasn't gone along with the "signing up for Prime" ruse... so if that gives you some sort of glee to take an unprovoked shot at me in the process, that's fine with me.

That is certainly your right, and I'm a big boy, so at least I can acknowledge that... and yeah, I get that I probably deserve it too, so no hard feelings on my part.

I like seeing that feature, I also like how Prime will do distance in feet between cars. Cause I'm not sure your average fan understands timing loops.

I remember when Fox developed "Fox Trax"… maybe they were just too far ahead of their time with that one though!

If they are introducing something new that no one else has ever done or is doing, then I definitely have to tip my cap to them on that one.

Wait?!? Do they have Shannon Spake on there?

SVG smokes the field in Mexico City for career win #2. He was 132 points below the cut line but now has a spot in the playoffs
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Not a bad race, time to move on. What I mean by this is that, I'm not a fan sometimes of this rule. But hey, it's what we have.

Actually, Marty is a hell of a lot better covering NASCAR (that's how he started) than he is trying to cover anything else that they've had him doing these last ten years...

But, I totally get it... just too much of the "look at me" in everything he does, for me to be a big fan, lol. I can however take him in small to medium doses from time to time - and believe me there are far worse out there...

Completely agree about there being worse . If Marty would just be himself, I don't mind him. I do like the McGee guy.

I think I commented last week about Mexico City being a true short track, but obviously I was wrong and it was a road course... my unintentional mix up goes back to my earlier stance that I didn't really mind if they went to a new track (either true short, or road) as long as the track it was replacing was of "like kind".

So now today, seeing that SVG won yesterday - I went to the NASCAR website to see what kind of tracks were in "The Chase" this year, and the first thing that jumped out at me was the headline called it a "provisional" win, which then made me need to research something else (which I will come back to later).

Round of 16 shows Race 2 of The Chase at World Wide Tech outside of St. Louis and while they definitely have a road course, it says this will be run on their egg-shaped oval. Other two tracks in 1st Round are Darlington and Bristol, so I don't see him being a threat to win in that round - but the 1st Round is just about not totally sucking, so there's a chance he could sneak through to the Round of 12, I suppose.

Round of 12 has the Roval as Race 6, and a lot of the big names run good there so I wouldn't call him a favorite to win there - BUT he did finish 7th there last fall, so it's not totally crazy that he could maybe win there, but I would doubt it.

Everything else after that is all ovals, so I'm not too concerned about him going deep into The Chase or anything like that, if I'm being totally honest.

Now coming back to this "provisional" thing... so Van Gisbergen is sitting in 30th right now in points. If I'm counting correctly, that is now 10 different drivers that have now won a race this season. I'm counting 10 more "Regular Season" races before "The Chase" starts, so while it's still mathematically possible that we could have 6 more 1st time winners before the playoffs - it's certainly not likely, so he's probably in "The Chase" for all intents and purposes at this point (as well as Josh Berry currently sitting in 19th).

You make some really good points here. Up until a few years ago, I believe that a driver ( full time) had to be at a certain point level to get into the playoffs, by winning a race.

The other thing that just jumped out at me on the NASCAR website is that this "last Prime race" can also be caught on MRN (radio), Sirius XM (radio) and Max (which I already have in my Spectrum package)... hmmm (yeah, you know exactly what I'm wondering now don't you? ).

But their website doesn't let me go backwards to see where their coverages were yesterday, so I won't really know anything for sure until this weekend at Pocono. Hopefully, I'll remember to check.

Hearing that the haulers are either going or back on American soil. Those folks who drive those haulers are the true unsung heroes that make the sport work.

I guess we'll find out this last Sunday of the 5 weeks of Prime.

Honestly though, I can't imagine that these are being televised live on Max - when all we've been hearing is Prime, Prime, Prime, Prime, Prime!

Has to be something else, reruns at later times like FS1 does for Fox or something... but I guess we'll see on Sunday.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the Max feed is in car? I would need to look more into it.

@PrimeVideo got 2.10 million viewers for Sunday's @NASCAR race in Mexico City.

That included the youngest audience yet for Prime and the lowest audience for any Cup race since 2017.

The post-race show drew 1.07 million viewers, the largest of Prime's four races so far.
