Then NC State finished the second day with a 1-2 finish in the 400 free relay. Wolfpack teammate JT Ewing placed 2nd in 1:45.90. Diehl now ranks 47th in the NCAA this season, while Ewing's season-best 1:40.21 ranks 14th.

McCarty would win the 50 free in 19.27 as one of four individual champions for the Wolfpack men on night one. James Plage kicked off the individual competition with a 4:23.65 win in the 500 free, then Noah Bowers took the 200 fly in 1:45.27 over the defending NCAA champion Aiden Hayes (1:46.72).

For the first time since Nov. 3rd, the Wolfpack Swim & Dive Team returns to the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center as NC State gets set to welcome Texas for a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 26.

Doors open at 1 p.m., with diving kicking off the meet at 2 p.m. and swimming at 5:30. The meet will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

Both teams come into the dual ranked with the Wolfpack Men sitting at No. 4 and the Women at No. 8. The Longhorns women are ranked No. 2 in the country, and the men sit at No. 8.

This will be the third straight year the Wolfpack and Longhorns meet, with Texas winning the last two meets. NC State returns from Charlottesville with the Wolfpack men sweeping both Virginia and UNC, with the women splitting after defeating UNC and falling to Virginia.

The Wolfpack men took down two pool records last time out with a 3:07.89 in the 400-medley relay. Kacper Stokowski led off in 45.92, Sam Hoover split 53.43 on breast, Luke Miller split 45.76 on fly, and Quintin McCarty anchored in 42.78.

Then NC State finished the second day with a 1-2 finish in the 400 free relay. Stokowski led off in 44.18; then the Wolfpack got a trio of sub-43 swims from McCarty (42.71), Miller (42.90), and Fox (42.26), a 2:52.05 in total, setting the pool record. Sam Hoover also went sub-43, anchoring NC State's 'B' relay in 42.88.

With a first-place finish, a personal best, helping the Wolfpack to two pool records, and a sweep of No. 18 Virginia and UNC, Kacper Stokowski has been named ACC Men's Swimmer of the week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Stokowski is the third NC State swimmer to take home a conference award this season, joining Luke Miller and Abby Arens, who also earned the award earlier in the season.

Wolfpack fans may notice Bayleigh Cranford missing from the diving portion of the meet. Cranford arrived in Dubai earlier in the week to train for the 2024 World Aquatic championships in Doha in February, where she will be competing for the USA Worlds Team in the mixed 10m synchro. Cranford took home first place at the Tennessee Diving Invite in the 1 meter with a score of 300.55 earlier in the year.

Fans arriving before 5 p.m. must fill out a virtual parking permit. Instructions on how to register for a free parking permit can be found HERE. All patron parking will be in the Coliseum Deck and will begin at noon.

A total of eight Wolfpack pool records fell Friday night as the Wolfpack earned a split with Texas, seeing the men winning 130-92 and the women falling 68-130.

On Friday night, NC State fifth-year Katharine Berkoff set a new pool record by swimming a 49.82 in the 100 backstroke. That swim makes her the second-fastest dual meet swimmer ever, sitting only behind Gretchen Walsh.

The No. 3 Wolfpack men were just off their 1:22.87 midseason time, which ranks third in the nation, as they won by over a second tonight. Aiden Hayes led off in 20.80, followed by Sam Hoover (23.56), Luke Miller (20.07), and Quentin McCarty (18.61).

Daniel Diehl made his college debut for the Wolfpack. He broke an NC State pool record with a 1:43.11 win in the 200 IM tonight.

After being behind early, NC State closed the gap with a 1-2 finish in the 200 free relay. Noah Henderson led off in 19.35, Quintin McCarty blasted an 18.68 split, then Drew Salls (19.01) and Jerry Fox (19.19) brought it home. Their time of 1:16.23 isn't far off NC State's season-best of 1:16.00, which ranks 4th in the nation. The Wolfpack depth was displayed, as their 'B' team touched for 2nd.

In the Men's 500, Ross Dantgot his hand on the wall first, winning in 4:16.21, followed by NC State's James Plage at 4:16.59 for third place.

In the Men's 400 relay, the Wolfpack men clocked a season-best time that moves them up to #5 in the nation this season. Quintin McCarty continued to showcase his speed with a 42.16 leadoff. Jerry Fox followed with a 42.44 split, then Luke Miller (41.87) and Sam Hoover (41.77) closed with a pair of sub-42 splits as NC State easily won in 2:48.24.

NC State 'B' team beat the Texas 'A' team 2:51.66 to 2:52.48 for a second-place finish.

The Wolfpack had men already locked up the victory, but the NC State distance crew made the gap even wider with a 1-2 finish here. Lance Norris hit a new lifetime best by over 6 seconds to take the win, and that time of 14:48.34 will punch his ticket to NCAAs. Teammate Kyle Ponsler had an even bigger lifetime best to take 2nd. Coming into today, Ponsler's best time stood at 15:41.41 from back in 2019. Tonight, he swam 15:05.69.

Helene Synnott posted a 305.93 in the Women's 1m dive for a second-place finish. On the men's side, Renato Calderaro finished third in the 3m, scoring 409.73 to set a pool record. It was also a third-place finish for Bayne Bennett in the men's 1m with a 379.35.

From start to finish, it was the Wolfpack leading the way on both sides as NC State finished first in every event on their way to sweeping UNC Wilmington on senior night, with the men seeing a 172-104 victory and the women winning 181-89.

A total of 23 seniors were recognized before the dual meet, many of them turning in strong performances throughout the evening.

The theme of pool records falling last week continued into this week as four pool records fell. First, in the men's 200 butterfly, senior Noah Bowers swam a 1:41.26 to finish first and set the pool record.

Noah Henderson had shared the pool record in the men's 50 freestyle coming into the night but beat his own time of 19.18, which he set back in November with a time of 19.13 tonight to finish first in the event.

It was a memorable senior night for Conall Monahan as the Charlotte, N.C. native set a pool record in the men's 200-yard breaststroke by nearly a second with a time of 1:55.54, which qualifies him for the NCAA B standard. The record in the 200 breaststroke had stood for nine years, set by Will Licon in 2015.

Katharine Berkoff continues to rewrite the record book this season as she sets another NC State pool record, this time in the women's 200 backstroke with a time of 1:50.94.

The Wolfpack saw plenty of first-place finishes from their seniors, including Hunter Tapp in the men's 200-yard free (1:35.26) and Michael Moore in the men's 200 back (1:46.85). On the women's side, Abby Pilkenton picked up first place and a personal best in the women's 100 backstroke (54.51), Abby Arens in the women's 50 freestyle (22.31) and 200 breaststroke (2:11.31), and Yara Hierath in the women's 200 freestyle (1:48.51) and a personal best in the 200 IM (2:01.37)

Both the men's and women's 200 medley teams started the night with victories, and both 200 freestyle relay teams for the Wolfpack ended the night with victories. On the men's side, both times came close to setting the pool record.

Freshman Daniel Diehl continues to put out solid performances for the Wolfpack. First in the 100-yard breaststroke, he set a personal best and qualified for NCAA B standard time with a 53.24. He followed that up with a season's best and another NCAA B standard time in the men's 100-yard freestyle.

Diving
In the diving portion of the evening, Renato Calderaro took home two first-place finishes, scoring a 409.50 in the 1m dive and a 433.88 in the 3m dive. On the women's side, senior Helene Synnott also finished first in both events. First, in the 1m dive, she scored 303.75; in the 3m, she scored 320.78 to qualify for NCAA B standards.

Elisabeth Rockefeller, Clara Tate, and Celia Bidwell followed Synnott in the 1m dive with scores good enough to qualify for NCAA B standards in their dives.

Two NC State men's swimming and diving team members were recognized by the ACC league office Tuesday for their weekend performances in the dual meet win over UNC Wilmington. Noah Henderson was honored as the ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Renato Calderaro was named the ACC Men's Diver of the Week.

The Wolfpack has now won back-to-back ACC Swimmer of the Week awards and their fourth overall, the most of any ACC program this year. Henderson becomes the third different swimmer to win the award this season, joining Luke Miller and Kacper Stokowski.

Henderson helped guide No. 3 NC State to a victory in its senior day meet. The Gibsonville, North Carolina, native broke his own pool record, which he shared, in the 50 free with a time of 19.13 to take first place and earn an NCAA B cut time. He was also part of two first-place relay teams in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. In the 200 medley, Henderson brought home the win in the final leg with an 18.72 split, giving the Wolfpack a finish time of 1:23.94. The fifth year then led off the 200 free relay with a split of 19.29, pacing NC State to a first-place finish at 1:16.94.

Calderaro becomes the Wolfpack's first diver this season to take home diver of the week honors after setting two program records against UNC Wilmington.

The sophomore notched two first-place finishes with a pair of dives that set program records and qualified as NCAA zone scores. In the 1-meter, the Italian scored a 409.50, over 35 points higher than his entry score. In the 3-meter, he posted a 433.88, which was 25 points higher than the previous school record.

It was a successful night two from the ACC Championships for NC Swim and Dive as the Wolfpack brought home another American record on their way to two ACC titles and six podium finishes.

After their American record in the 200-medley relay was broken shortly after setting it, the Wolfpack men returned to the pool and set the American record in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Luke Miller and Quintin McCarty were a part of both relays, with Drew Salls and Noah Henderson joining the freestyle relay.

With a time of 1:14.44 to set the American best time, the Wolfpack also matched their conference record set last season, which both Miller and Henderson were a part of, and it beat the meet record set in 2022 by Virginia.

Arsenio Bustos took home gold in the men's 200-yard IM for the second consecutive year with a 1:40.75.

The successful night helped the Wolfpack men surge to first place with 531.5 points, 196 points ahead of Notre Dame.

Women 500 Freestyle: The Wolfpack had swimmers in all three final heats. First in the C final, Keelan Cotter went 4:45.98 to finish first. In the B final, Grace Monahan also came in first place with a personal best of 4:45.42. The A final saw three NC State swimmers in the top eight; Emma Hastings finished fifth with a time of 4:42.77, Brooke Travis was right behind her at 4:43.99, and Yara Hierath placed seventh at 4:44.70.

Men 500 Freestyle: Four of the top eight swimmers were from NC State. Led by James Plage, who earned the silver medal with a 4:14.72, he was followed by Owen Lloyd and a personal best, who took home the bronze with a 4:14.87. Fourth and fifth place were also occupied by the Wolfpack, with Ross Dant going 4:15.05 and a personal best of 4:15.11 from Kyle Ponsler.

Women 200 Yard IM: Kennedy Noble represented the Wolfpack in the A final and earned a fourth-place finish and a personal best of 1:55.29. Grace Sheble and Katherine Helms appeared in the B final. Sheble finished 10th overall at 1:57.61, and Helms finished 16th at 1:59.86.

Men 200 Yard IM: Bustos's time of 1:40.75 automatically qualifies him for NCAAs with A standard time. With a time of 1:42.77 in prelims, Diehl finished with a personal best of 1:41.97 for fourth place in the finals. Sam Hoover came in sixth place with a time of 1:43.60

Women 50 Yard Freestyle: Berkoff found herself on the podium again with a bronze in the women's 50 freestyle, clocking a 21.23. Meghan Donald finished in 16th with a time of 22.56, and Casandra Moses in 18th at 22.33.

Men 50 Yard Freestyle: The top eight had three Wolfpack securing spots, led by McCarty at 18.89 and in fourth. Salls in sixth and 18.99 and Aiden Hayes at 19.30. The B final was won by Noah Henderson, who turned in a 19.24. Miller finished in 12th at 19.38, followed by a personal best from Jerry Fox at 19.41.

Women 1 Meter Diving: Bayleigh Cranford, Helene Synnott, and Ashton Zuburg all competed in the women's 1-meter dive. Cranford just missed out on the top eight and a spot in the finals with a 255.00. Synnott scored 229.20, and Zuburg a 200.15

Women 200 Yard Freestyle Relay: The night started on the podium as the women took home third place in the 200-freestyle relay. Katharine Berkoff led things off with a 21.14 split, which set a school record. Abby Arens followed (21.60), with Meghan Donald (21.89) and Miriam Sheehan (21.61) rounding out the four.

Men 200 Yard Freestyle Relay: McCarty got the relay started with an 18.93 leadoff, Salls followed with his first 18-second split, going 18.53, and Henderson clocked an 18.45 with Miller closing it out with an 18.53 to bring home the American record

It was a dominant night on both sides of the pool for the men and women of NC State Swim and Dive. The Wolfpack claimed five ACC titles from the Greensboro Aquatic Center to give the men an over 300-point lead, and the women moved into second place heading into the final day.

NC State won the men's 200-yard butterfly as they claimed gold and silver in the event led by Noah Bowers and Aiden Hayes. Hayes, who won the event last season at both the ACC and NCAAs, finished in second with a time of 1:39.65 for his second individual medal of the competition. Bowers won his first ACC title as the grad student secured a personal best, going below the 1:40 mark for the first time with a time of 1:39.65.

For the past five ACC Championships, the women's 100 backstroke has only known one winner, and her name is Katherine Berkoff. Berkoff became the first woman to win five-straight ACC titles in the same event, as she went on to set a meet record and personal best of 48.70, becoming the second fastest swim ever in the event.

Teammate Kennedy Noble followed Berkoff in second at 50.92, Meghan Donald came in sixth, and Miriam Sheehan finished in eighth.

It was the men's turn immediately after the women's 100 backstroke. Kacper Stokowski entered the night winning the last three ACC titles, and it was no different tonight as he claimed his fourth consecutive 100 backstroke title, clocking a time of 44.36, the second-fastest in the nation.

Freshman Hudson Williams also found the podium in the event, taking home the bronze with a personal best of 45.28. Quintin McCarty came in eighth.

After finishing the women's platform preliminaries in first place, freshman Bayleigh Cranford took home the gold and is the first ACC Champion in women's platform since Madeline Kline, who won the event in 2019 and 2018.

As the last diver of the finals heading into her last dive, Cranford scored a huge 79.90 to move into first place and win gold with a final score of 313.80, beating out second by .60.

Abby Arens continued the successful night with a second-place finish in the women's 100 breaststroke, going 58.74 for her career best.

Though no one swam for the Wolfpack in the men's 100 breaststroke, Sam Hoover did win the consolation final, hitting a lifetime best of 52.22.

The night ended like it had started, with two more podium finishes, seeing the men's 400 medley relay earn gold and the women's 400 medley relay take home second. In the men's relay, Stokowski put the Pack into the lead with a 44.99 leadoff, and Hoover followed at 51.61. Luke Miller gave the Wolfpack the lead back with a 44.08 fly split, the fastest in the field, and McCarty anchored in 41.52. for a total time of 3:02.20. The women turned in a time of 3:28.23, with Noble leading off (51.23), followed by Arens (57.86) and Sheehan (53.05) as Berkoff closed it out 46.05 for a total time of 3:28.23.

The Wolfpack closes out the ACC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 24, for the final day of competition. 9:30 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m. Mile heats are slated to begin at 2:45 p.m. The ACC Network Extra has the full day of competition covered.

This may have already been pointed out in this thread or elsewhere, but I just looked at the latest national rankings and realized how it sucks to be bringing in Cal and Stanford to the ACC for swimming - for the purposes of us racking up more ACC titles. Cal is currently ranked #2 in men's and #7 in women's, and Stanford is #6 in men's and #5 in women's.

Yep, the swimming competition is going to ratchet up a little more with Cal and Stanford joining the mix. But, it should also make the elite talent want to swim in this conference, with the ability to swim against some of top ranked teams on a consistent basis.....think SEC and football.
