After defeating No. 1 South Carolina in December, @PackWomensBball will have another crack at the top team on Monday.

Whether or not Elissa Cunane, who missed the last two games, can play is the most important factor.

The second-ranked NC State women's basketball team (11-1, 6-1 ACC) is set for its second road matchup of the season with the nation's top-ranked team as it visits No. 1 Louisville (16-0, 9-0 ACC) on Monday evening. Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Cardinals is set for 7 p.m. from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky.

The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2, and radio broadcasters Patrick Kinas and Ashley Eli will be on the call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.

University of Louisville women's basketball plays the last of three straight games at the KFC Yum! Center when they host No. 2 North Carolina State (11-1, 6-1) on Monday night at 7 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast on ESPN2 and 790-AM WKRD.

Tickets and parking for the originally scheduled NC State game will be valid on Monday night.

Louisville is 16-0 to start the season, which marks the second best start in program history. The Cardinals started a program-record 20-0 in 2017-18. With NC State and UConn's losses on Thursday night, Louisville is the only undefeated team in the AP Top 25.

UofL is 9-0 to start ACC play and with a win on Monday night will tie their best ever start in ACC play. They started a program-best 10-0 in 2015-16 and 2019-20. In 2013-14, the Cardinals had their best ever start in conference play when they started 11-0 in their lone season in the American.

Eleven of 16 wins came in the month of January, which marks the most ever in the first month. The previous mark was nine in 2015-16 (9-0) and 2019-20 (9-0). UofL played 11 games in January, which is the most in head coach Jeff Walz's tenure in the first month of the year. UofL played a program-high 12 games in January in 1979-80 (5-7) and 1981-82 (7-5).

UofL led all 40 minutes in their last two wins, a 79-76 win over Miami and a 79-68 win over North Carolina. They also led wire-to-wire in wins over Eastern Kentucky and DePaul.

The Cardinals are 4-0 as the No. 1 team with a scoring margin of +7.3. In their first 12 games before reaching No. 1, their scoring margin was +26.6.

UofL leads the ACC and ranks 10th in the country with a 79.2 free throw shooting percentage. In ACC play, they are shooting an impressive 86.3 percent (88-102), which also leads the league. The top six leading scorers are all shooting above 76.5 percent from the stripe and combined they are shooting 83.8 percent (165-197).

In the last three games, Elizabeth Balogun is averaging 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists, while shooting 63.2 percent from the floor and 8-12 (.667) from deep. She has scored in double figures in three straight games and six times this season.

After shooting 3-19 (.158) from deep in the first nine games, she is 15-31 (.484) in the last seven and has at least one 3-pointer in all seven games. She is averaging 10.3 points in those seven games after averaging 3.9 in first nine games.

ABOUT THE WOLFPACK

NC State is 11-1 overall and 6-1 in ACC play. They are coming off their first loss of the season, an 83-71 overtime loss at Virginia Tech on Thursday. The Wolfpack went 21 days without a game and played the Hokies twice in a week, coming from behind to win 89-87 last Sunday before falling on Thursday. NC State has played the last two games without Elissa Cunane, who ranks fifth in the ACC with 16.2 points per game and 10th with 7.5 rebounds per game. Her 58.2 field goal percentage ranks third in the league. Jakia Brown-Turner ranks 15th in the ACC with 14.6 points per game and the Wolfpack feature six scorers with more than 8.7 points per game. Raina Perez (2.59) and Brown-Turner (2.31) rank one and two in the ACC in assist-to-turnover ratio, and Perez ranks third with 4.8 assists per game. The Wolfpack rank first in the league in field goal percentage (.486) and field goal percentage defense (.347). They rank second to Louisville in scoring offense (81.8) and scoring margin (+18.7).

Series History - UofL is 8-3 all-time against NC State and 2-1 at the KFC Yum! Center. They are 8-1 since joining the ACC. Eight of the last nine games have been decided by 10 or less points, four by five or less points, and three by two or fewer. UofL's only loss to NC State since joining the ACC was at the KFC Yum! Center (L, 72-70) on 2/2/17. The Cards have won six in a row since.

The Last Meeting (Feb. 13, 2020) - Jazmine Jones scored 19 points and No. 9 Louisville locked down defensively to win at No. 4 North Carolina State 66-59. Kylee Shook had 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks for the Cardinals, who arrived sitting a game back of the Wolfpack and coming off a rare set of consecutive losses. But Louisville handled the pressure of playing in front of a sellout crowd with composure, both in knocking down 48 percent of its shots, and more importantly, in taking the Wolfpack completely out of rhythm.
