Currently riding a three-game win streak and a 7-0 mark inside Reynolds Coliseum, the NC State women's basketball team (9-2) hosts its final home game before the holiday break on Saturday evening when local foe Elon comes to town. Tip-off between the Wolfpack and Phoenix is set for 6 p.m. from Reynolds Coliseum with live video coverage provided by ACC Network Extra.

-Ra'Shika White leads the Phoenix with 14.3 points per game.
-Shay Burnett ranks 16th nationally with 6.6 assists per game. She is also the team's leading rebounder with 8.7 per game.
-Elon is currently ranked sixth in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll.

In a game featuring two of the top rebounding teams in NCAA women's basketball this season, the NC State women's basketball team (10-2) won the battle of the boards and outscored Elon 16-1 in second-chance points en route to picking up a 70-57 victory Saturday evening inside Reynolds Coliseum.

The victory marked NC State's second four-game win streak of the season, improved the team to 8-0 at home this year, and marks the best start to a campaign since the 2013-14 team began 11-1.

Chelsea Nelson put up her second double-double in a row and her fifth of the season as she led NC State in both scoring (15) and rebounding (11). Akela Maize added 14 points on 5-10 shooting and three blocks on the defensive end. Kaila Ealey scored 11 points, nine of those coming from fourth quarter free throws, and Kiara Leslie recorded 10.

The Wolfpack will hit the road for its next two games, first heading to Nashville, Tenn. where the team is set to face Vanderbilt on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST, with live video coverage provided by SEC Network+. NC State then opens Atlantic Coast Conference play at Virginia Tech on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 2:30 p.m.

NC State's Atlantic Coast Conference opener at Virginia Tech on Thursday, Dec. 28 will now be played at 2:30 p.m. instead of the originally-scheduled time of 7 p.m.

The game will be broadcast live from Blacksburg, Va., on ACC Network Extra. Both teams enter the contest with matching 11-2 records on the season.

NC State opens ACC play at home this season when No. 3/4 Louisville comes to Raleigh on Sunday, Dec. 31 for a 2:30 p.m. game.

NC State makes the short trip to Durham on Sunday, Jan. 7 to continue ACC competition against No. 17 Duke. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Cameron Indoor Stadium with live television coverage provided by the ACC's Regional Sports Network affiliates.
