WATCH: Jarius Morehead Eager To Get To Work

Senior safety Jarius Morehead is one of NC State's top returning players.  He recently met with the media to talk about fall camp.

“I watched our first-string offense come out with a lot of new things. Our defense really surprised me. Usually, the first day is like a slump day, but they ran to the ball and finished. I liked that.”

“We came in with probably 30 or so. Coach Doeren said, ‘Look to your left, and look to your right. The people that’s here aren’t going to be here when you finish.’ When I first got here, it was like all the young guys and then you’ve got the old heads and all that. Now I’m looking back, and there’s a lot of young guys, and we’re a young team, but that’s not an excuse or anything.”

“I give props to Drake Thomas. He’s really filling in. He can be like another Pratt. He runs to the ball and does everything Coach Hux asks. You can’t ask for anything better.”

“I always knew I was going to be in that role. I came under Shawn Boone. I take what Shawn Boone taught me and what the coaches taught me, and I apply it to the young guys.”

“They did well, especially for coming in two months ago. They learn well. I told them they’re going to mess up and that the playbook’s hard, but we’ll fix it in the film room. Just run to the ball. They did really well.”
