The Wolfpack women took seventh place as a team at the 2019 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships to tie for the squad's best finish in program history.

NC State finished as the No. 7 team at the national meet for the second time in three seasons, tallying a total of 187.5 points over three days of competition. Stanford (456.5 points) took first place, and California (419 points), Michigan (314 points) and Louisville (235 points) rounded out the team honors. Texas (190.5 points) and Virginia (188 points) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

The meet wrapped up an incredible season for the Wolfpack women. In addition to tying its best finish at the NCAA Championships, the program won its second conference championship in three years and its fourth overall conference title at the 2019 ACC Championships in February. NC State's 12 selections to the NCAA Championships were the most in program history for the Wolfpack women, and the Pack moved up an impressive 11 spots from its 18th-place NCAA Championships finish in 2018.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS HONORS:
The Pack garnered 10 individual All-America citations, and all four NC State relay squads were also cited with All-America honors at the 2019 NCAA Championships.

All-American

• 200 freestyle relay: Perry, Alons, Rowe, Haan (1:26.73 third place)
• 50 freestyle: Ky-lee Perry (21.57 seventh place), Kylee Alons (21.89 eighth place)
• 400 medley relay: Haan, Hansson, Alons, Perry (3:27.86 fourth place)
• 100 breaststroke: Sophie Hansson (57.90 first place)
• 200 medley relay: Haan, Hansson, Alons, Perry (1:34.80 third place)
• 100 freestyle: Ky-lee Perry (47.43 seventh place)
• 200 breaststroke: Sophie Hansson (2:06.18 third place)

Honorable Mention All-American

• 500 freestyle: Kate Moore
• 200 IM: Julia Poole
• 400 IM: Makayla Sargent
• 100 backstroke: Elise Haan
• 200 backstroke: Kylee Alons
• 200 medley relay: Perry, Alons, Hansson, Calegan

200 BREASTSTROKE:
Sophie Hansson capped off an incredible NCAA Championships outing by once again finishing in the top three of an individual event, this time in the 200-yard breaststroke. The Wolfpack freshman posted a lifetime best of 2:06.18 in the championship final to claim a bronze medal and All-America honors for the second individual event of her meet.

Julia Poole also saw action in the event during Saturday morning's prelims, where she placed 42nd overall in 2:11.29.

100 FREE:
Ky-lee Perry impressed in the 100-yard freestyle to score valuable points for the Wolfpack women. The junior took eighth in the prelims, clocking a 47.51 that was just .01 off of her lifetime best. Perry then managed to move up a spot in the championship final, as she became an All-American in the event with the fastest 100-yard freestyle time of her career. She clocked a 47.43 for seventh.

200 BACK:
NC State was represented by Kylee Alons in the consolation final of the 200-yard backstroke. Alons swam back-to-back career bests in the event as she went 1:52.34 during the evening session to tie for 12th overall. Alons' finish came with Honorable Mention All-America honors for the Wolfpack freshman.

The Wolfpack saw three other women line up for the 200-yard backstroke during the prelims. Freshman Emma Muzzy clocked in at 1:53.46 to rank 20th overall, and Elise Haan followed just behind her with a 1:53.47 for 21st. Kate Moore rounded out the Pack's swimmers in the event as she placed 26th in the prelims in 1:53.85.

400 FREE RELAY:
NC State closed out its night with the 400-yard freestyle relay consolation final. After placing 10th in the prelims to book a spot in the evening session, the Wolfpack women secured a 10th-place finish overall with its performance in the consolation final as Ky-lee Perry, Kylee Alons, Sophie Hansson and Olivia Calegan went 3:12.11 for the program's sixth consecutive season garnering All-America honors in the event.

1650 FREE:
Anna Jahns led the way for NC State in the mile, placing 22nd in 16:09.60, and Summer Finke joined her in the top 25 as she placed 25th in 16:11.60. Tamila Holub (16:18.73) and Makayla Sargent (16:24.53) placed 36th and 37th, respectively.

Great job by the lady swimmers, Coach Holloway, and staff. We are continuing to strive for excellence in both the mens' and women's programs and are steadily moving up in the national scene.
