Well, I gripped and ripped it. Won a Willet 8 year for $160 (MSRP $250) - thinking I made out good - only to get hit with $60 worth of fees and shipping haha!
Still a cool bottle and after all the back and forth on shipping it was delivered in tact!
I know it's more suited for cocktails than drinking neat, but got a liter of Grant's in Phillipsburg this morning for $18. Whomever here previously commented on the poor pickings of Caribbean ports was on target….so far. Heading out to sea tonight, Antigua in the morning.

Picked up a fifth of Heaven Hill BIB. Probably better than the Eagle Rare….
I've also checked the wake county abc inventory online and found a store that had Eagle rare in stock. I go by there and they say yea we have it but it's reserved for the restaurants. Called a couple more that said it was in stock and they said the same.
On a side note, wake county must have just received their allocation of Buffalo Trace products. Picked up a bottle of Buffalo at the wake forest abc this morning.
Another side note, neighbor went back home to Delaware this weekend and got me a bottle of Blantons. Pretty pumped about it

Just got back from a road trip out to Colorado to see my daughter and her family for a couple of weeks... driving through Kentucky around Frankfort area on I-64, stopped at a Valero Gas Station and while inside picked up a Weller's, 2 - Blanton's, 2 - Eagle Rare's, 2 - Buffalo Trace's... didn't really "shop" for any while out in CO, but I did happen to see another Blanton's and grabbed it ($80), and I bought my son-in-law a Buffalo Trace and only paid $27 for it. Did buy a couple of special "Denver Broncos" labeled bottles of Breckinridge Bourbon (86 Proof) on a whim as well... and brought some other goodies back with me as well.
Haven't scored any of the JD releases for this year, but certainly on the lookout. The 14 is supposed to be outstanding.RvaWolf said:

Really good! It's low proofed and a very smooth and easy drink. Does have something on the finish that I can't really define, probably oak from being in a barrel for 18 years haha!

I've had some EC18 that I really enjoyed, but being a single barrel I've found a wide range in profiles. Some come out too oaky for my pallet. The good one's are worth the price. Glad you enjoyed it.
Sagamore is a good Rye, but I prefer Wheated, like Makers, for under $30, Rebel 100 is good. Jameson not a Bourbon, but cask editions are close.

Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond tonight. Pretty good
That's become my "house bourbon" for the last couple of months. Good neat and stands up in a cocktail and is reasonably priced for a 7 yr 100 proof.
