Because it's a different time. No player is now ever stuck with one team. They are playing for their next school and bigger NIL deal, not the one they are on.

No, if he's graduated by the time he'd need to enroll then he wouldn't need a waiver. He just wouldn't be able to participate in summer workouts

I know we recruited him pretty hard out of high school, but is an ACC destination likely?

I've always understood it as graduate transfers don't have to meet that rule, but maybe that's not the case. Either way with him being a grad transfer and duke "changing coaches" it should be easy for him to get a waiver if it's necessary.

As far as the ACC, there's no road block there anymore, it's just a matter of if he'd want to.

Great news. This really helps solidify the team and gives us depth. So, if my math is right we can take Henderson Jr or Seabron but not both, right?

This team has a legit shot at a top 4 finish. I really like Morsell and I'm hoping he takes the reins of leadership with this team.

Yeah you're right. Let me toe the line. Keatts is crap. All the players are crap. The program sucks and will suck forever until they clone Valvano and bring him back as coach. Better?

For christs sake we just got the best freshman in decades back plus legit transfers and got rid of malcontents and guys who didn't buy in any more.

And it's been pretty widely speculated that Keatts needs a top 4 finish to keep his job. This team now as constituted can get there.

Per his insta, Dereon is still working out with teams. I think its safe to assume hes staying in the draft

Really hope he finds right team and good fit with a head coach who believes in him. He's a great kid.

Yep, only 12 schollies due to the NCAA crap so one open. Also, Burns is a Junior so we get 2 yrs of him.

Ahh thanks, i figured. LOL i've completely lost track of eligibility at this point because of COVID and transferring. I'm just guessing at this point.

Check this player evaluation out on 2023 Amani Hansberry out of Mount St. Joseph HS in Baltimore. NC State has offered and is involved. He took an unofficial visit to Raleigh earlier this year. He was named the Baltimore Sun Player of the Year.

That guy looks like the best player ever!!! LOL. Seriously, that is quite an evaluation, never heard of that site before, but it's an impressive write up.

Edit - 247 has him at #182. We apparently offered 2 years ago. There's a good video of him. He doesn't look overly athletic and his release is awkward, but he appears to be very effective - especially in his highlight video.

Say what you want about Keatts. He does have an ability to identify talent early.
