Nobody should be surprised when current NC kids are Duke or Carolina fans. Like them or not, those are the teams who have cut down nets in these kids' lifetimes. State (and WF) are going to be also-rans for fandom until we give them reason to pull for us. What we have to do is look past their current favorite teams to whether that kid is a fit for us... and most kids do the same thing when evaluating their offers. Sometimes the offer and opportunity line up at their "dream school" but just as often (if not moreso) they go somewhere else to get the playing time they desire.

The main advantage we have over Missouri is that we're not in Missouri.

Would Bates' commitment affect Steere at all? They appear to be similar players, but then, we have a bunch of PT available in '18.

Steere wants to be closer to home. Left High Point to attent HS in Fayetteville.

He is from Fayetteville. His dad has a supplement business in Fayetteville.

Steere and Bates will play HS ball together this year at Northwood Temple.


I think Bates commit is a very good thing for the recruitment of Ian Steere to NC State and I think we get him.
