Since no one has bothered to mention it.

His was the first campaign I ever worked on When he first ran for Gov.

It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great.

I genuinely didn't know he had passed. My dad served in the senate for many years and he always had good things to say about him even though they disagreed on a lot. RIP

I seriously thought he was older than 88. And I had no clue his daughter was the current Lt. Governor

Yeah I thought he was at least in his 90s and same here on his daughter being Lt. Gov.

Yeah, unfortunately his story got somewhat lost in the secondary background with the news stations due to the Biffle crash... realized that yesterday morning when I saw the different frequency of the two stories being reported on Spectrum. Felt kind of bad for his family that it wasn't getting the attention that it rightly deserved.

One of the rare political figures, although less rare in past past generations, that seemed well-respected irrespective of party.

Distinct memories of him occupying his typical second deck front row midcourt seat for many a game at Reynolds when I was growing up.

RIP to someone who always seemed like one of the good ones.
