NC State forward Khamil Pierre met with InsidePackSports after the Wolfpack's 68-59 win over Davidson.
When you're doing what you're doing inside, do you have a feeling of, I can get what I want? I don't want to say arrogance, but confidence, maybe?
Yeah, for sure. I think it's just understanding what I'm capable of and understanding, like, especially down in the list of my areas. So just knowing that when I get the ball, it's most likely.
You've had some big games lately, ma'am, and I'm wondering how are you feeling, like, November to now? How much do you feel? Do you feel more comfortable? Where are you at?
I'm feeling more comfortable, for sure, but I think far from having good games and, like, playing how I think I should be.
When you look at the USC game, some of the endings of those games didn't go as well. This game you did close out your team. Where do you think the growth has been from that point of view?
Mentally, for sure, just better focus and understand that you can't afford to lose those.
You guys saw Davidson come back. Were you ever flustered? Were you ever concerned? Or where was your mindset at during that second, third, fourth quarter as they closed the gap?
I mean, every team is going to go on a run. They're a great team. So, just knowing that we kind of gave them that confidence that they were able to play with us. And so, just making sure we finished it out.
I've had the great privilege of seeing you all play on the road a few times. You seem to get a kick out of it when the fans kind of give you a little banter. Am I getting the wrong impression?
No, I mean, everyone has a lot to say, but they're not the ones who are working every day.
What can this team be?
I think we’re a national championship team.
You guys think there's more levels to reach?
For sure.
So, you get a break and then Stanford. Now, for all the chaos of 9-4, you're also 2-0 in the ACC. So, in a sense, it's all there.
Yeah.
Yeah, speak to that and how much needed this break is and how excited are you for that run?
I think it’s necessary for sure. But, also just taking the time to be at home with our families and not worry so much about what's to come.
I wish you the very best of luck. I thank you for your time, ma'am. Congratulations.
Thank you.
