I've not researched if this is true as far as the costumes go, but in context of this, it would be important to know when this happened. Before he went off to college or once he got there? Kids change, a lot, in college. They are very easily indoctrinated. College professors are FAR more likely to be Dems (GOP is single digit % of professors) so there's a lot more echo chamber liberalism happening on college campuses today then ever. Now, they're not afraid to do it openly either. Rarely happens that someone goes to college these days and becomes radical right.

Hopefully we get every bit of his online presence, his professors, groups he was in at school, etc. laid out so we can see where he went from seemingly normal to someone willing to murder another human because he didn't like words.

Totally agree. I didn't watch a lot of Charlie's work while he was alive. But I've watched several clips of him the past few days, and he was extremely intelligent and articulate. And he was having a HUGE impact on young people. So, definitely, the he was a big threat to the Leftist agenda.

What are you talking about exactly?

For the three-year period 2022-2024 in the US, nearly all extremist murders were white nationalist or alt-right.

If you're talking about a relative increase in non-lethal, alt-left violence, that's a lot harder to quantify than fatal political violence, but the absolute rates of violence - certainly fatal violence - by alt-left and alt-right groups does not tip towards "most being perpetrated by folks with an extreme left-wing agenda" by any quantification I've seen, from any source.

I think people that make that erroneous assumption are conflating "acts perpetrated against the right" and "acts perpetrated by the left" and leaning into recency bias because of the Trump attempts and now Kirk. They continue repeating erroneous information like the attempts against Trump or the Minnesota lawmakers were perpetrated by the left, which is demonstrably false, and leaving out the large proportion of bad actors for whom there is no discernible, coherent political ideology motivating them.
