I'm not offended, I fail to see how this accident would be prevented if she like dudes. By all accounts she was highly qualified to do the job. That and Werewolf has zero proof of this woman's sexual history and therefore shouldn't comment on it as fact because he read it on the internet.
You are correct on the proof, LOL. I committed slander, I tell you, I committed slander. LOL

Despite the hourly outrage from CNN and our liberal friends here it appears President Trump was correct again when he called out DEI hiring practices just after the accident.
We're not going to wait for the actual investigation, it's just DEI? What about the tower being understaffed because someone was sick so that one ATC was handling landings and helicopter traffic? That plays no part I suppose.

Look, I'm no fan of DEI policies, but events like this are rarely boiled down to one single thing that lead to an accident. It's just incredibly short sighted to declare that DEI is the only reason this accident occurred because the real reforms that may be needed will be ignored.

According to the lawsuit the FAA is facing, they have turned away 1000 qualified applicants in favor of DEI.

Do you not think that those 1000 applicants could have filled in across the nation. Would having 1000 MORE applicants not help?!

Why is this so hard to understand?

why is it hard for you to understand that it's not the ONLY reason this accident occurred, and that the lessons learned from the other causes of this accident are most likely going to be more important than hiring practices.

I never said it was the only reason this accident happened. But would having 1000 MORE people, who the FAA turned away for DEI, be a bad thing?

Again you and Civ simply refuse to admit the democrats and their DEI policies have done tremendous damage to the FAA.
I nor you know what the staffing needs are for this particular tower nor do we know how people are scheduled for working at DCA. Let's figure that out and fix it before we decide that a policy is the issue. I think we'll find it was not as big as it's being made out to be
I heard that the target ATC staffing level for DCA is 30 and current staffing is 19. No idea how accurate that is.

Call me crazy but I'm starting to think the 1000+ qualified applicants who were turned away in favor of DEI hiring policies could be helpful here?

You're crazy. So you think that DCA would be fully staffed with ATCs if only they'd been willing to hire white people? That's why you think they have been chronically understaffed for ages? Somehow DEI is responsible for our new army of mentally incompetent ATCs and the fact the 5 ATCs are always doing the job of 8?

Jesus you guys are easy marks.

Not fully staffed but to think 1000+ qualified applicants, who were turned away so democrats could check boxes, would not be of any help is dumb…even for you.
If you want to ague that there shouldn't be a "race" component to hiring that's totally fine. But you're making the leap that the people they brought in were obviously less qualified. You sure about that? Or is that more "they're eating the pets!" crap that you guys gobble up. The ATC union doesn't seem to think any of their ATCs are unqualified.

And if a STAFFING SHORTAGE is what it causing the problems, what does DEI even have to do with that, exactly?

I'm sure the people they brought in are capable of doing that job. My point is that the FAA turned away 1000+ qualified people so the democrats could check boxes.

FAA embroiled in lawsuit alleging it turned away 1,000 applicants based on race that contributed to staffing woes

https://nypost.com/2025/01/31/us-news/faa-embroiled-in-lawsuit-alleging-it-turned-away-1000-applicants-based-on-race/

So you're sure the people they brought in are capable of doing that job. Yay, progress!

So aside from pi**ed off white people who didn't get the job, what does that have to do with STAFFING SHORTAGES that are clearly pushing ATCs to the limit? Any chance their budget might be the problem? Why the fu** is Trump bringing up DEI, again?

You ask about "STAFFING SHORTAGES"…. the 1000+ turned away for DEI/woke BS hiring policies would have helped. Do you honestly not understand that or are you being a good liberal and simply not acknowledging it.

/facepalm

How would they have helped?! If you have the budget for 1000 hires, and you turn away 700,000 more people who applied for the job, how could that extra 700,000 people have helped? You mean they could have helped if they were willing to work for free, and the FAA was willing to train them, too?

[sigh] the FAA had the budget. They were/are actively trying to hire. 1000+ qualified candidates were turned away for DEI hiring policies.

They would have helped because it would MORE PEOPLE IN THE TOWER that night.

This is pointless with you. Have a good night.

So you seriously think that they wanted to hire 1000 people, but have just been leaving the positions unfilled until enough qualified DEI people walk through the door someday? Yeah, no.

This is what happens when you mindlessly regurgitate talking points. "OMG 1000+ qualified candidates were TURNED AWAY!!!" No, 1000+ candidates were white and didn't get the job. Someone else did. So now they're mad and filing a lawsuit.

The only way there would have been MORE PEOPLE IN THE TOWER that night is if the FAA had made more positions available.
