Anyone watch it? Thoughts?

I waited years for this and sadly I have to say I'm not impressed. It was good but I thought it would be a lot better.

It's certainly not on the Band of Brothers or Pacific level.

I liked it. I wish they showed more air scenes though. But don't forget pacific and band of brothers were also big on how they lived day to day type of stuff and not just battles.

I watched the first episode months ago and it just didn't catch my attention - I think was bothered by the Brad Pitt look alike pilot.

But I have now gone back and started watching again and have enjoyed. Thru 6 episodes and i think it gives you a perspective of how deadly being a pilot was with crap equipment and basically suicide missions with little or no cover

It was good. If I'm ranking in order of WW2 mini series:

Band of Brothers

Pacific

.
Masters of Air

Agree. The last couple episodes (MoA)
Just seem to bog down.

Watched it. Realized immediately it wouldn't be BOB. I was still entertained and watched the whole thing. Enjoyed it.

Yep, not sure anything could live up to BOB

Finally watched the final episode. Well done. I ended up really enjoying this. Whether BOB, The Paciifc or Masters of Air, these were some incredibly brave men to whom we should all be eternally grateful. So many never came home.
