Literally the Republican Party platform in 2026.

More of the same.

Talk about low-information voters.

You may not like "Democrat" solutions but at least they don't weave a rich tapestry of totally fake problems for consumption by the low or no-information portion of their base.

Do you not see what is happening across some of Europe's largest cities because of mass migration, Islam and socialism?

That is exactly what will happen in America given the democrats plan and another 20 years. We are lucky to have two oceans separating us from the world.

Would it kill you to acknowledge there is a problem?

What plan of Democrats are you referring to?

What legislation?

What policy?

What leaders are promoting it?

Respectfully, were you living under a rock during the Biden administration's open borders where at least 10 million illegals, from all parts of the world, flooded into our country?

It all starts with mass migration from mostly third world countries. The legislation will be amnesty. The policy will be sell the country out for votes and have one party rule. Leaders promoting it? From Obama to Governors and Mayors to legislators and judges in sanctuary Sates and cities to the media. We see it everyday where democrats and leftists refuse to work with immigration control.

It amazes me someone as smart and educated as you absolutely refuses to acknowledge what you can literally see happening across Western Europe in real time. How bad does it have to get before we wake up?

Let me ask you, do think socialism/Islam/wokeness has more traction with the democrats or the republicans?

Not living under a rock personally, but when I go outside in the Triangle every day, I don't see 10 million illegal immigrants flooding our country from "the third world".

I do see a substantial increase in cost of living. That's just my eyes though.

Because you don't see it from your nice neighborhood means it's not happening?

We can literally see the effect of socialism mass immigration, Islam, wokeness across Western Europe. Yet we stick our fingers in our ears and say lalalalalala….

Did your eyes see the substantial increase in cost of living during the Biden administration? Thats where all of this started.

I'll wager, outside of higher gas prices which will come down, your life is no different today than it was three years ago? Am I wrong? Please explain because all ears.

Firstly, It's disingenuous to point all the issues in Europe to immigration, Islam, and wokeness. The US has systemically pulled back from Europe and decided to wage its own war in Iran, to nobodies benefit except perhaps Big Oil. There has been a major cost of living crisis in Europe ever since the Ukraine war started. We have told Russia "have at it". My foreign policy would always be to blockade Russia and defend NATO. Removing it does not help us.

Secondly, consumer spending is way down. It's almost zero. Businesses projections are down across the board. People aren't spending money, so the strain is on anyone who is not a billionaire. My day to day is different, I support my entire family (parents included). I'm the first college grad of my family. So yeah, it is different for me. This is not the sign of a functioning economy. My policy would be to stop providing corporate welfare and cutting individual citizen programs to support it.

The billionaire class has flourished, they are spending more and more on influencing our politics, gaining control of major industries (AI for one) with zero regulation. There is no benefit to regular Americans to have such a concentration of wealth.

Just don't let the immigration story blind you from the centralization of money and power under this administration.

If you want to stick to your hardline immigration policy, I'm not really that offended by that. But to me it sounds like you're willing to turn a blind eye to literally everything else because of it, which is where I see the fault.

What I've seen in this midterm election is people aren't voting for abstract problems they heard about on the news, more what's on their front door. We'll see on Tuesday.

Some fine points you make and well articulated.

As someone who spends a lot of time throughout Europe both working and living, I'll politely disagree with you. All of Europes problems start and end with mass migration from third world countries. Islam is a major part of that. There is a clear difference in countries like England and Germany and a country like Poland. It's night and day and it's because two of those countries are overrun with third worlders and one is not.

"Consumers spending is way down".

The 3rd quarter GDP report is at 3.4% largely fuel by consumer spending.
- - -
Robust consumer spending, AI-related investment power US economy in third quarter

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-economic-growth-accelerates-third-quarter-2026-10-29/

Gross domestic product increased at a 3.4% annualized rate last quarter, the quickest since the third quarter of 2025, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis said in its first estimate of third-quarter GDP. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast GDP advancing at a 3.2% pace.
The economy is expanding at a pace that is well above what some Fed officials regard as the non-inflationary growth rate of around 2%. Stocks on Wall Street were trading lower. The dollar slipped against a basket of currencies. US Treasury yields fell.
- - -

The daily doom and gloom from the media is pushing this narrative of a terrible economy. Outside of higher gas prices, it ain't true.

Billionaires in politics is nothing new. You want to change that, change the law but it needs to apply to both sides not just the side we disagree with. Likewise, you want to tax billionaires…fine with me. Tax the ever living sh*t out of Soros, Oprah, Gates, Buffet, JayZ and MeBron, Hollywood, media…etc. Make sure we tax them all not just the side we disagree with.

We agree that November 3rd will be very interesting.

PS something needed to done with Iran. President Trump could have waited until after mid terms. There must be a reason he did not.

Something needed to be done about Iran, based on what intelligence?

What are we doing about Iran right now to further that goal, and at what ongoing cost to America?

What benchmark do we need to hit to get out of Iran?

More intelligence information you, me, CNN or anyone else we know will have access to.

Every President for the last 40 years has said Iran was a problem. Are you going to deny they are?

We are strangling the life out of their economy and they are on the verge of collapse.

We have lots of problems with foreign nations. Starting a war with every one of them isn't the solution.

Every President the last 40 years acknowledged Middle East challenges and yet they all, especially recently, also acknowledged diplomacy was the way to handle it.

So there are two options, either the information changed recently, or Bibi saw an opportunity to manipulate a weak, insecure, narcissistic president into thinking attacking Iran was necessary or prudent.

Based on the lack of any coherent communication regarding the rationale for the war, or any clear indication of what the goal is, combined with the level of thoughtlessness and incompetence on display during Trump's first term, but triply so in his second, all of the smart money is on the latter scenario unfortunately for America and the rest of the world.

Why would you assume that Trump's approach to this war behind the scenes was calculated and thoughtful, when he and Hegseth and this administration put their impulsivity and thoughtlessness and lack of seriousness on display on a daily basis about everything else?

Why would their war effort be any different?

When you say "starting war with every single one of them"…can you give me names? Dates? Times of these wars?

Where has diplomacy gotten us with Iran? They spend oil money all over the world sponsoring terrorism. You are naive if you think that will work forever.

Let me guess which you choose to believe…Jews bad. Trump bad. Jews bad. Trump bad. Got it.

The rest of your post is unhinged nonsense, Civ. My goodness you are off the deep end with some of this.

Have a good evening.

That's exactly the point. We don't go starting wars with other countries we face non-existential, non-imminent threats from, and we shouldn't have gone to war with Iran either.

So we going to war with every country with state-sponsored terrorism? Pakistan? Russia? Syria? Qatar?

Yes, Trump is an objectively awful president (and human), and history will judge him accordingly.

What are you talking about, Jews bad? Jews are a people, not an administration. Nobody is talking about Jews here, we're talking about Israeli leadership.

Bibi and his policies are not even popular with Jews, in Israel or abroad. Thinking Bibi is mostly an idiot has nothing to do with "Jews" any more than knowing Trump is an idiot has to do with him being a Republican. Those two losers deserve each other.

It's obviously possible to be pro-Israel but critical of Bibi, and also of Trump since he carries Bibi's water. That's exactly the position most Israeli's and Jewish Americans take. You saying a Jewish Americans and most Israeli's think "Jews bad?"

This is the other thing Republicans are proudly terrible at right now. Nothing is nuanced. Every issue is simple. Easy. Black and white. Not data-driven. Not highly complex, and requiring equally complex analysis, and leadership capable of performing it.

This is what happens when you've had your brain boiled by relentless propaganda.

Which do you think is more likely? That global immigration issues are being caused by a socialist wokeness conspiracy, or by a capitalist "conspiracy" in every advanced country to overcome declining birth rates and maintain economic growth?

It's such a great scam Republicans (and global right wing parties) have going... fight tooth and nail behind the scenes to prevent any real limits on immigration (ensuring we maintain growth and that everyone has access to cheap labor), but then use the social stress that causes as their main election issue.

Like with everything in the Trump Show, even this made for TV thuggish ICE bulls**it is mostly performative... Trump's daily deportation numbers even now are barely above Obama's. And Biden got stuck in a perfect storm of immigration thanks to the pandemic... and he gets credit for a massive "make up for lost labor" spike that you have to pretend didn't actually start during Trump's last year in office.

And of course, please keep insisting that outside of gas prices everything is great. Nothing people love more than being told to not believe their lying eyes. You clearly don't live in this country.

You ever notice most of us can have a normal conversation but you?

Lol, spare me. You had a "normal" conversation in the Water Cooler today for the first time ever. It's so jolting that Hokie just handed you a trophy.

Feel free to actually respond to anything I said like a "normal" person.

I've tried conversation with you md it ends up the same way. You are the biggest jerk on the WC and most of your teammates would agree if they were being honest.

Hmmm, you'd think my teammates would have mentioned that the other night when we were all drunk getting our "Sharia Law 4 Life" tattoos.

The problem is that MAGA-types have gotten way too used society's double standard where you're expected to behave like obnoxious children at all times, while the librul and centrist grown ups must always be even keeled lest you tantrum even harder.

Civ in particular deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for how he's stuck strictly to the issues for years while being pelted with constant feces from you guys. I do my best to stick to issues and make cogent arguments backed up by data and reality, but yeah, sorry, that ain't me.

President Donald Trump invited outgoing congresswoman Haley Stevens, a longtime Michigan Democrat, to join the Republican Party after she surprisingly endorsed her state's GOP nominee for the U.S. Senate, Mike Rogers, in a last-minute move her partymates have called a "betrayal."

"I don't know Haley, I've never met Haley," Trump said at a rally in Iowa on Sunday, the final weekend before the Nov. 3 midterm elections. "But Haley said what few people are willing to say. I think I'd probablyI'd love her to join the Republican Party actually."

DETROIT After months of proclaiming support for the Democratic ticket, Rep. Haley Stevens has endorsed GOP Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers over her former primary rival Abdul El-Sayed, less than 48 hours before Election Day.

"As you may have seen, our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Abdul, said I was no longer welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away, and he's right," Stevens said in a video she posted to social media on Sunday. "And that's why I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate today."

Whoa. A little bit of common sense from a democrat?

Whew, the Dems dodged a bullet on that loon. Good riddance.

I can't believe you said that…I about fell out my chair.

I'm sure your "news" left out a few details. But yeah, she clearly has some emotional problems and an even weirder fiance. Dissing James Clyburn is certainly a good way to end your career in Dem politics in 2 seconds.

Lol, I'm sure she'll slot in nicely where Tulsi left off as Fox News's token Dem.

Have a good day, Smapty

Amazing he can shamelessly spew that stuff after surrendering to the Taliban and definitely not ending the Ukraine War on Day 1. He's either completely gone mentally, or really has a low opinion of his followers.

Matter of fact, another one of your guys was President when Crimea was invaded too….think I'm starting to see a pattern?

You sure are trying hard to skip past what Trump said.

So what do you think he meant? You mean after the Doha Accords between Trump and the Taliban (the Afghan government wasn't even invited), where Trump agreed to pull out half of our remaining troops with the understanding that the Taliban wouldn't attack the token force remaining, in exchange for a promise that we'd pull out the rest completely in 14 months... you're saying after that 14 months that Trump could have won the war in 3 weeks? Is that what he meant?

Is this you "trying to have a conversation"? Notice you completely disregarded my question?

Yes, I watched the video. Apparently it's designed to impress shockingly unintelligent people. "Ok, I'm withdrawing, and if you don't attack the handful of poor bast**ds I leave behind, then soon after (when Biden gets in office) we'll withdraw completely, totally abandon the Afghan government, and never look back... and in exchange we get, ummm, nothing? But if you do attack them, man, I'm totally gonna kill you personally!!!"

You're takeaway from that is that Trump is a tough guy? Lol, seriously? /facepalm

So yeah, now can you move beyond your pointless aside and just answer the question? Did Trump really mean he could win the war in Afghanistan that he had just surrendered in 3 weeks, with something like 2500 troops remaining?

He wouldn't have gotten 13 Marines blown to pieces in his withdrawal without some payback.

Who in the hell withdraws from Kabul when Bagram is 50km north?!?

Everything we needed was in Bagram. Two long runways (thick) to land and take off heavy airplanes. Blast walls all the way around. Internet. More fuel than you know what to do with. Hospital. Housing/chow halls…everything you need for a withdrawal.

YOUR guy made those decisions. The buck stops with him.

Ohhhh, you mean like the 23 service members blown to pieces in Trump's Iran (definitely not a) war so far? Funny how military deaths never count unless you demons need a partisan talking point to bang on for a few months... BENGAZEE!!!! 13 MARINES!!!

Pulling out of a 20 year war in the messiest place on Earth while the Taliban (as Trump agreed) is now raging through and the government is collapsing, and only losing 13 marines, by any sane measure makes Biden a f'ing miracle worker.

Anyway, that's not what Trump was saying, anyway. He was talking about winning wars. You clearly have a very advanced dementia translator.

Well let's see... leaving aside that Biden wasn't on the ground directing troop movements, GENERALS were, I'll take a stab at it:
  • Securing Bagram would have required 5000 more troops than we had in country
  • The highway to Bagram from the capitol (aka the people needing to evacuate) was 50 miles long and not secure, hence needing more troops.
  • Did I mention almost everyone that we were evacuating was already in Kabul, next to the airport?
  • US forces had already abandoned Bagram as part of Trump's Doha surrender, and reoccupying would have been logistically difficult.
Any other questions?
