Quote:

An impending decision from the North Carolina Supreme Court could threaten a core tenet of the state's constitution: the separation of powers.

At issue is whether a judge can order state executive-branch officials to open the treasury and transfer $785 million to state agencies without the consent of the elected North Carolina General Assembly. The decision could open the door to billions of dollars of additional court-ordered spending in future years. The state constitution clearly directs that only the legislature can appropriate state money.

The 43 Democratic-majority N.C. Supreme Court heard arguments on August 31. A decision on the case is coming any day. If the court sides with the plaintiffs, the justices will establish that they believe the courts can bypass the North Carolina General Assembly and spend taxpayer money.
Cooper wants to use a lawsuit from 1994 to justify implementing a California based education consultant's plan to overhaul public education in North Carolina. He has no authority to do this but being a Democrat, that just means he must go outside the limits of his state's constitution to get things done to meet his party's agenda.

Are local news media reporting on the implications of the NC Supreme Court's decision?

Elections have consequences. Two of these judges are up for re-election in Nov.

Kind of reminds you of Dictator Brandon just flagrantly violating the U.S. Constitution to decide unilaterally that he will spend $500 billion to $1 trillion to make taxpayers pay for college loans.

Since when do communist Leftists and Democrats respect the rule of law or the Constitution? They are now enemies of the Constitution -- openly declaring war on the 1st and 2nd Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, for example.

The communist Left are authoritarians. They do not respect individual liberty, and a government of limited powers that respects the rights of the individual. They want raw power any way they can get it, and a government with unlimited power to do whatever they want, whenever they want, however they want.
