Those were good times

Those are the days I remember! Also n taking over Hillsborough after big wins!
Hillsboro St the night we beat FSU in 98 (I think) was one of the most fun nights of my life. The entire street was filled for hours with euphoria and debauchery.

That night was insane. I'm not ashamed to say I shed a couple of tears in the stands when the clock hit zeroes.

NY Pizza on Hillsborough. City limits. PBs. Brothers pizza, was that the name on Hboro? Or two guys?

There was another saloon type bar that was close to flying saucer. Can't recall the name.

Raising mortal hell at football games. Lol

I was a big fan of the Wing place across from Bell Tower. Also Soo Cafe, Korean place, was over there too. Loved that place. Last I heard they had moved out on Capital Blvd in the hood.

83-88. Buckets at Blimpies, Strohs dark pitchers at Mitches, Bragaw keg parties, Lawn Party and a party at some house on frat court just about any night from Thursday to Sunday. That's why it took me 5 years and every available summer school session to graduate. If I could go back, I don't know that I would change a thing

Lots of basketball in Reynolds (Gugs v Ferry/Duke and Spud v Muggsy/Wake stand out)

Drop/add day, also in Reynolds

Intramural basketball and flag football

Panty raids

Wolfstock

That steak restaurant in the basement of the student center (I think we got to eat there once a semester on the meal plan?)

Mitch's, Brother's Pizza

Meeting my future wife in freshman English because I left the stupid book in my dorm room (thank god for the humanities at an engineering school)

Some things I miss, but I don't miss all the work!

You guys used to be able to have kegs in the dorms??

2009-2014... Tuesday nights I'd sometimes head to Chapel Hill for one of their bars' quarter beer night over there. The ratio over there was much better than back in Raleigh. Wednesday-Sunday lineup was pretty consistent for me and my crew. Wednesday was Rum Runners 1.50 wells. Thursday was usually PBs ($6 all you can drink mug night), but sometimes we'd go to Downtown Sports Bar or EV. Friday and Saturday were either house parties or Fayetteville St. Oxford and Big Easy were the most popular spots. All of them were cheap to drink at if you played the nights right.

After midnight on Hillsborough street Hot Box Pizza had dollar slices for drunk food. If I was feeling like splurging I would order DP Dough delivery.

My grades after I got a fake/turned 21 were obviously not very good with this rotation.

It's crazy that most of the places I went to are closed now. I feel like my parents talking about bars on Hillsborough in the 70s and 80s that are long gone. When I go out to bars in Raleigh now I wonder how college kids afford to go out to bars now. I could go out with $20, pay for my portion of the taxi, drink all night, and buy drunk food at the end of the night. A lot of places the kids go to downtown now charge $6 for a bud light.

My 2nd night at State there were 22 kegs of beer in Bragaw for a party in 1978
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I'm a couple years older than you (c/o of 2012) but we were probably in the same room multiple times a week.

Hot box pizza makes me laugh bc a buddy of mine was hooking up with a girl who was a manager there, and we'd go in after they were closed and drunkenly make our own pizza.

I think it was the early 90's when that started to turn. It was still happening, but the RA's were starting to crack down more.

No keg in the dorm in the late 90s, but we did manage to have a hall crawl, after some bribes to the RAs.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned getting Gumby's almost every weekend. A Gumby Damn it and Pokey Sticks delivered at 1:45am was a must.

Bragaw had a dorm funded keg party in the common area in the middle of the X on the first floor. We also had kegs provided by the university on our freshman orientation.

I was glad about that, that building was so ugly and wasn't functional at all. I had my first college class in Harrelson and couldn't help but think "My high school had nicer classrooms than this"

Going into a class there in January 1986, is when I first heard about the Challenger disaster.

I laughed at the stories from Prof's watching the same group of freshman students walk by their office looking for their class room multiple times. There surely has to be ghost of students still walking that walkway

I was coming up the spiral ramp one time, when a group did one of those 1000 super ball releases from the top and I got caught in it.

Probably can't even do stuff like that around there anymore (objectification)... I still have a "Penthouse Car Wash" T-shirt tucked away in a storage bin somewhere. Seems like it was probably Spring 1981, but not 100% for sure on that year though (but I know it wasn't 1983 )

Glad to see Central Campus Craze and West Campus Jam mentioned. Not that they were much, but I remember keg parties in the Tucker and Owen basements - was it "Tucker Tavern" and "Owen Tavern"?

25 cent buckets at Blimpies were hard to beat - my hallmate worked there and would refill for free.

A good night out in the mid-80s was to hit the Rat, get bar seating by the window, each Reno Nacho platters and drink pitchers while watching the crowds walk by. Maybe swing by Mitch's for more beers, then hit Barry's II before midnight until close.

Buckets of beers at the Cantina were a nice way to spend the afternoon in the early 90s.

Used to do "the all day thing" with some buddies in the 90s. Start at one end of Hillsborough Street and rotated buying rounds. Usually from 2PM to 2AM, covered Pantana Bob's, Cantina, Mitch's, the Rat, Sadlack's, Alligator Alley, PR, Bourbon Street, maybe some others.

Was it Barley's on Western near village Inn Pizza that had $1 imports (heini and Amstel) on Thursday nights? Early 90's.

^ That location has been many places over the years. I think it was Cody's and maybe Tut's or Pharaoh's in the 1980s, probably some other names too. I remember 10 cent Hamm's on draft - I paid $1 for a Bud instead, was making good money as a co-op.

Not that it was good, by don't think anyone mentioned Hotlanta in Mission Valley. Trying to remember what it was prior to that - maybe "Class Act" . . . or was that after?

There was also Suds on Western Blvd - laundromat with beer!

I think that place was also Dream's in the mid 80s. That's where I learned to love a gin and tonic

Had many a good time on Brent Rd.

Also used to go downtown to a club called The Office. Every Thursday, a bunch of friends from Campbell University would come up and party there. Occasionally would go to City Limits Saloon and The Flying Saucer too.

This was circa 2007-2011.
