Anybody else remember Beat the Clock night at Ed's Grocery? I think it was on Sunday nights, maybe on Mondays.

From 9-10 pm, large cups of draft were 50 cents.
From 10-11 pm they went down to 40 cents.
From 11-12 pm they were 30 cents.
From 12-1 pm they were 20 cents.
And since this was before they changed the alcohol rules, from 1-2 pm was 10 cents.

Me and my buddies would show up between 11:30 and 12 midnight, and for a $2.00 or less you could get pretty f - ed up. And my guy playing music there would always play some Bruce " Devil w/ the Blue Dress and CC Ryder upon request. Good times !

Drop off a box of punch cards in basement of Nelson and walk up to RR for a branded Double R Bar burger and a holster of fries

come back an hour later and find out a typo in one card, wait half hour for a machine to type card over

I stumbled out out there many a Sunday night Monday morning after that
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Most of them don't know how good Roy Rogers Roast Beef was. We usually went to the one on Western, where the Bojangles is right now. They would always shout out the order and when some of the immigrants working there would call out the Double R Bar Burger with their accent it was classic! I had forgotten about the holster of fries.
