Worth a shot I guess. Looking to take my dad to the Masters as my pre-wedding excursion. But as you can imagine, tickets are hard to come by. Didn't win in the lottery for the 8th straight year.

If you, or if you know of anyone, that is selling their passes, I'll buy them. Willing to go much over face value.

PM me with any details, thanks!

I'm with you brother. I've never won the lottery after 4-5 years in it either.

Of course i'm in it to just sell my tickets and not go to the masters.....

Good luck. Ive been twice (Monday practice round and a Thursday tournament round). It is far and away one of my favorite events I have ever attended. Augusta does everything right

Worst case I'll try and scalp tickets. But that's about a minimum of $4k…

I've been it in 9 hrs and have gotten nothing. If I won I'd probably sell as well as I enjoy watching it on tv more.

Was lucky enough to get to go in '17 and '18. Me and a buddy both won the lottery back to back. Question for anyone that might know tho......I've had the opportunity to go to a practice round twice but I'd really like to attend one of the tournament rounds now. Are the odds better if you only request the tournament rounds and not the tournament rounds and practice rounds together? I usually request everything and hope for the best.

I have no idea. I request everything and hope for the best like yourself, which is what Ive done every year for over a decade. Ive even started requesting the women's tournament as well

I request everything every year and have never been chosen. It's a tradition unlike any other.

Went to the Monday practice round in 2019 and spent a good part of the day following Tiger, JT, and Fred Couples playing together. Would have never guessed what Tiger would pull off later that week

Been entering the lottery the last several years. Will break down and scalp at some point I'm sure. Definitely a bucket list stop.

Haven't won after 10 years in the lottery. I've tried requesting everything to only selecting a couple and still never won. One of these days!

Been 8 times…. It's always a great experience! Never forget my first time, seeing the grass for the first time amazed me! Heck, I thought it was artificial it was so perfect.

I wish I could offer up a way to get tickets; however, I'm related to the golf industry, so my tickets are always open for me (and me only)…

the next time you go, would you mind doing a daily topic of sights and experiences from being there?

I think it would be interesting for those who follow golf to read your experience vs what we see on tv

  • Among the many things that make the Masters the quirkiest event in sports is the strict no-cell-phone policy during the tournament.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Was lucky enough at the time to go the full week/weekend for 4 straight years. Was the best week of my year each year. Not being allowed to have your phone is honestly such blessing. After the first day of reaching for it repeatedly, you realize how attached you are, and the days after that of unplugging were amazing. Just as enjoyable as the gold itself.

Was going to head back this year for a couple days but our 4th dropped out and made the package we were buying too much for just the three of us.

If you can afford it, going through some of the services are the best way to go. Guaranteed tickets and great amenities from hospitality houses, rental houses and transportation.

For those that haven't been.. as awesome as it appears on TV, it doesn't do it justice for what it really is. I have a couple of thoughts:

  • The conditions of the course are SICK!
  • The conditions where the patrons walk (outside the ropes) are spectacular
  • The elevation change is incredible (TV does not show the amount of elevation change)
  • The undulations of the greens is unbelievable
  • Amen corner is smaller than you might think
  • You can literally walk up to Butler cabin (can't go in of course)
  • The sandwiches are inexpensive and fantastic (can't remember the Woman's Auxiliary that does them)
  • The reason you never see any trash on the course (all food and beverage items) is because they package everything in green
  • The road that the August National golf course is on kind of reminds me of our Capital Blvd in Raleigh. As you drive, all of a sudden you start to see trees and then Magnolia lane is right there. I highly recommend everyone do a Google Map search to see this.
  • There is so much more; however, to me, if you aren't even a golf fan, being there is a once in a lifetime experience

I've been to practice sessions as well as event session. Practice sessions tickets are available walking around, kind of like going to a NC State FB game. Personally, I don't go anymore because I just enjoy watching on TV, much like NC State sports…

If you can't get tickets for the weekend, go to a practice day. They are tons of fun!! Actually, if I were to go again, it will be for the practice sessions…. BTW, my brother has an inside the ropes pass.

The elevation changes for me were what was most shocking. I remember walking up to number 1 and not recognizing it. The fairway has about a 30-40 foot dip in it...from TV looks like it just rolls out there as flat as can be.

I have applied for tickets every year for the last 15 years and I get the, "I'm sorry but….." email and I always say getting rejected is "A tradition unlike any other."

I will be there on Wednesday for my second time. I am blessed to work for someone who is a member. Seeing it in person my first time there was so amazing. It was almost like a dream and took a while to realize it wasn't a dream.

When I was there in 2008, that was one of the first things I noticed. Even a high definition TV cannot give you the actual elevation change on almost every hole. It's like the 14th green, the front part of the green is about 3-4 feet lower than the back part of the green. It does feel like a dream when you are there and like Kevin Costner said in Fields of Dreams..."It's perfect."

I don't remember exactly how many years they have been doing the lottery. 15 - 20 years i think. I have applied every year. No luck. A few years ago one of my friend applied and was selected the first year he applied. Luckily for me he invited me to go.

I never done this; however, I've talked to a bunch of people that buy tickets from sellers near the gate (especially practice rounds). They are always available.

If you don't mind going to a practice round, you can get in that way. It's worth it to be there during a practice round; so much, that I will only go back for a practice round. Much more relaxed atmosphere…

I did this when I went in 2008. It was the first round of competition. There are people looking for buyers especially in the big parking lot on Washington Street across from one of the entrances. It will not be cheap. I did have sign looking for tickets and if I got too close to the gate, they told me very politely to move along. I finally hooked up with one of the runners and he took me to a house beside the golf course where they kept my credit card to make sure I would come back with the badge. I did get in for the afternoon rounds and walked the whole course with Mickelson. It was an unbelievable experience, but again it was not cheap.

That's why I would do it for a practice round.

The elevation yes - I recall watching the ball suck back down on the front of 9 green and rolling down the hill.

The other thing that stood out was the whiteness of the sand and the green of the grass even more striking in person.

I have been offered Master's tickets twice in the past few years and have not been able to go each time. Real bummer. Once was a Saturday round and this past year was a Tuesday practice round. Hopefully the third times a charm, if there is a third time.
