Actually, if this isn't a clear message that they only care about their environmentalist agenda, nothing is. Look, I care about the environment as much as any reasonable person. I love the SC lowcountry, the NC mountains, and recent trips to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons are just stunning -- and I want all those things, and the wildlife that lives within it to be safely preserved for generations to come, etc.
But this is just dumb, and the fact they'd look towards either Venezuela or the Middle East should be a freaking recall-worthy.
We can all hope that we move towards renewables, and I'm good with investing there to some degree, but come on....

That's the mentality they have. They're smarter than everyone of us. We can't produce oil and gas here because of the environment. But it's OK to ask the rest of the world to step up their production.
Psaki tells everyone that opening back up the Keystone pipeline is not an option because it's years before it would help. (Halted 14 months ago) But this is why we should be moving towards green energy, which oh by the way is even more years away from being beneficial.
They really just think you and I and everybody else are just stupid!
This is what bothers me --- this group is cutting off their noses (actually, all of our noses) to spite their face --- and telling us we are bad people if we disagree.Steve Videtich said:Packchem91 said:We agree!caryking said:Actually, if this isn't a clear message that they only care about their environmentalist agenda, nothing is. Have a path towards the future, but don't interrupt what we need to do today -- or worse, make us dependent on foreign nations that are led by despots and criminals.

I am fine with banning Russian oil. If you actually want to use sanctions that could actually make a difference, this is a good option. Doing so without any sort of plan to replace said oil is just plain stupid. Reaching out to a socialist Russian ally and the Saudi royals isnt a good option either.
Its getting to the point where I am not sure it matters who the Pubs run in 24, they will romp.

The key would be gaining control of the Senate and I don't think that's happening because viable candidates won't come out of Georgia and Arizona primariescowboypack02 said:2024? That depends on how good the candidates running can tie the current democrats in office to the increase in cost of living.hokiewolf said:The key would be gaining control of the Senate and I don't think that's happening because viable candidates won't come out of Georgia and Arizona primariescowboypack02 said:2024? Quote:
U.S. oil production had plunged during the early months of the pandemic, driving dozens of oil companies into bankruptcy and forcing others to retrench and shut down new drilling. But since August 2020, it has roared back, adding 2 million barrels per day to reach 11.6 million barrels per day by late February, and forecasters expect that figure to climb by another 1 million barrels by the end of the year.
