Okay, this may get lengthy, and I apologize. And, thank you for answering my questions. I ask them so that I can understand where you're coming from.
First, I agree that Trump can be an *******. I think most supporters would agree with that. To me it seems your frustration stems from him not dialing it back a bit so he could get reelected. Yes/ no?
In your explanations of each one, you mostly described their character. One you want nothing to do with and the other you wanted to have a beer with. But, in the end, you decided to vote for the one that had better policy. For that I applaud you. I know many people who hated the man but liked his policy and voted the other way.
But, I guess my issue revolves around the constant bashing and negativity towards Trump supporters on this board. If he was somebody you voted for, why bash? Why aren't you continuing support for those that age with you on his policies?
You also brought up Charlottesville. Why, because of the neo-nazi comment? Again, that's all on the media. Look at the transcript of press conference.

CNN originally reported correctly. But the powers that be decided to twist it. He didn't say anything like what had been reported.
Same with Jan 6. Don't tell me what he said that day was incitement. I'll argue with anyone that that day was nothing more than a huge setup. Why won't Pelosi turn over her correspondence for that day? Lots of questions about that day, especially when Dems were saying much worse the entire the year before for worse violence.
Look, I agree he needs to tone down the rhetoric. I also believe most of the MAGA support is because of his policies, not because of any stolen election talk. I believe that to be a side deal for most, but it gets all the media focus just like we agreed on the far left hysteria.
LOL...just because people disagree with you doesn't mean they are have to rely on CNN (or MSNBC)...some of us can watch the same speech as you and think of it completely differently all on our own.
To wit...you publish this article as if its some proof Trump's comments were fine. I look at it and think, given the events, and the context, it doesn't make him look good at all -- in fact, I read it and it just screams "the real Donald Trump". I mean, ok, it proves he wasn't celebrating the actions. But, he's the POTUS. We've just had a racially charged murder. We have a country that is, and has been, on the edge in a lot of ways.
So he goes in knowing what he is going to say matters.
Is it that difficult to stand up there and say, this is a tragedy. I don't want to influence the judicial process that is already underway, so I won't comment on the specifics, but clealry we have real issues in this country that we need to heal. I think we are all sick of the fringe hate groups -- who try to enforce their will, to the point of violence on others. We think of hate groups, and we tend to think of people from outside this country...but we have violent hate groups right here. And I am not going to tolerate it, regardless of ideology. I'm going to take steps to empower my AG to go after these groups and the people who provide them resources with all the energy the US Government can bring to bear.
At same time, I'm asking my VP to put together a panel - made up of people from both sides of the aisle and outside of DC, like John Lewis, Reverand yyy, etc. to do something. We need to listen to each other, and if we can't lead by example, than why would we expect the US citizens to do any better (I know these things are generally worthless....but you're trying to bring healing and unity, and that sometimes just showing you are willing to engage people you may not agree with at all to discuss can be powerful)
Instead, we get a glorified p'ing contest between a "gotcha" reporter and a POTUS who has a need to show he's the smartest guy in the room. I think he completely lost any reasonable ability to gain a % of black voters that day.
