Hokie, at the end of the day, the articles about crack pipes, albeit hyperbolic, it's basis is still an issue for me. I don't see where anything in our US Constitution gives the federal government the ability to do such spending.

I do believe, some on the left and right, feel as if spending, like this, the ends justify the means. I fully understand why people justify their beliefs. My only point, for most things, is the constitutional powers given to spend money like this.

That being said, I truly have very little doubt, at some point, the federal government will justify giving out crack pipes, for all the same reasons your article stated.

^The 'bad guys' probably see the 2022 midterms as more of a 'hold-the-line' moment and they can do that by cheating in the Republican primaries. Simply cheat in the primaries to put 'establishment' R's into the election and they won't need to cheat. The risk of cheating in the primaries is great in 2022.
