A lot of the bias is in the little things. I still remember when living in Raleigh and Tom Fetzer was running for office and the N&O, despite all the head shots they surely had of him, ran one on the front page where it basically looked like one of those gorilla faces with his mouth wide open

It drives me crazy that this bill is being held hostage to the reconciliation bill (or whatever it's called). I can't stand when lawmakers dump all sorts of things into one bill to force a particular personal priority, which is effectively what it seems like they're doing here. If they really want to show that we can get things done across aisles, pass an infrastructure bill that everyone agrees we need. Not getting it passed or holding it up to force something else will cost dems the house, IMHO.

What I mean is that the infrastructure bill and the other bill are effectively being treated as a single bill by some Democrats. Pass the bipartisan part (infrastructure), get that done, then haggle about the rest. I'm sure that's an extremely naive opinion based on the practical aspects of lawmaking, but don't operate this way and then try to convince anyone you want to be bipartisan. Just more of the same.

I just was going to say that. Whoever Biden's handlers are have decided that it is a better look for him to not appear in public and say anything about Kabul falling to the Taliban than it would be for him to come out and speak about it....that's a helluva thing
