Further point... one thing of many that I hate about government is why do we have to ram these massive spending bills that are unsustainable and try to cover 50 things? Why can we not sit down and do a simple infrastructure bill? We call it that and then try to cover a wishlist with it.

You could do a simple bill that would appropriate to roads, utilities, broadband, and other related things.

I mean what I consider infrastructure it looks like that's less than 15% of the cost of that bill.

Right. This could have been 20 bills, not 2. Even then, some would be large.
Congress has really embraced the mega bill the past few cycles. They can name it after the most popular provision, stuff a bunch of other stuff, and then be outraged that the opposition opposed "Popular Provision X."

Because the senate is broken. The filibuster is abused. It makes it so that the only way things are passed are through massive spending bills.

An alternative visualization:

SOCIALISM.

This looks like an incredibly inefficient waste of money that one day we will have to pay for. We could probably accomplish many of the same tasks by properly utilizing private enterprise and pay less than 20% of the costs. If we eliminate most of the wasteful aspects of these proposals, we could likely have great improvements at 10% of these numbers.

There are no incentives to force a large government to perform tasks at cost competitive rates. That is why having government mandate limits to prevent private enterprise from overly accentuating profits is a better solution than having government actually run projects and should be the preferred solution for taxpayers. If our national media honestly evaluated methods as an independent observer, everyone would know these facts and we wouldn't have the one-sided bias we see in our national media that ignores basic fundamentals from science and economics.

This is my though process for all politicians who are still pushing lockdowns and mask wearing. If I go get the vaccine and you tell me I still can't so into restaurants without a mask, I still shouldn't get together with friends, still not allowed to have concerts or sporting events, and still need to wear a mask and social distance from people then why should I get the vaccine. There is no benefit to it.

God I'm so frustrated at the messaging! We'd already have more shots in the arms if it weren't for our corrupt government trying to keep people afraid and restricted.

It's really bad mixed messaging too. Want everyone to get a vaccine so we can open up? Then start letting people go back to normal if they're vaccinated! Set public, concrete benchmarks for reopenings and ending mask mandates. Give the public an incentive to encourage their friends and family to get vaccinated.
