Not sure what sources those were but the national guard has been deployed.
National guard are coming from Virginia.

DC major has to request national guard from the federal government, their request was denied.


NY Times reporting DC National Guard has been deployed.
This happened about five minutes ago (right before 5pm). The original request, which was denied, was several hours ago.


This story was posted today at 3:48 PM Eastern.

ETA: it should NEVER have been denied but the troops had already been activated a day ago for this purpose and were deployed apparently around 330 so it's not exactly a refusal to utilize them to stop this madness.
