Dang you really think so? I know UNC 3rd starter is trash but I'd assume they start rose and go bullpen the whole game with everyone and try for 1-2 innings and to me that's better than what ok has (especially if they plan on running back the dude who started today... Yikes)

A unc national championship in baseball would be a blow to our program and make Hart's job more of an uphill battle. I'm an older lion than a lot of you and it won't be good. You should know that. Spin it as you wish as you pull for unc. You will see.

UNC starting a guy who hasn't started (at least not in post season and maybe all season?). To me UNC trusts Decaro Lynch Glauber and McDuffie. All of those guys are out except McDuffie. It wouldn't shock me to see Decaro or Glauber at some point but what will those guys have for an inning or 2?
OU is starting a guy who threw 5.2 and gave up 3 earned against UGA last time out and have their main arms available out of the pen.

Yes you are being disingenuous if you are trying to characterize OU as 11th best team in SEC at this point. Yes their path was a bit cleaner than some others but you don't schedule your way to a game 3 if the finals.

As far as UNc winning today I couldn't care less. If it adds pressure to our program to step up its commitment then I will eat it. I am all about NC State and could give 2 ****s about Carolina.

I am not talking Hart. I am talking the university as a whole stepping it up to provide greater support to what is a growing sport in college baseball. NC State is very well positioned to be a power in college baseball.

One of the biggest disadvantages we have here is endowment. UNC and Duke have us there, every sport's scholarship at UNC is endowed ( or close to it ).. Folks here need to understand this, UNC plays with house money.

Agree on funding it more if possible. Of course. Maybe NIL contributions will pick up if we get bad news today from the Hole victory if that happens.

That's what a history of winning does for you. We would have bandwagon fans too if we won as much as they do across multiple sports.
unc affection has been embedded in this state for over 100 years. Academically and athletically. As much as I hate it, it is a national brand. It is a magnet for multimillionaires and celebrities alike. The embarrassing academic scandal didn't slow them down at all. unc basketball is as solid as Microsoft. All the winning we may accomplish still won't hold a candle to their popularity and any potential gifts. Our school is based on technology and research. Great STEM school, what actually benefits the state, nation, and global economics for starters. Great importance, what academia should be about. But that is boring to celebrity lap dogs.

Boomer, Sooner. I fear the Cheaters will win today, but I am hoping otherwise. Some of it is ABC, which is a perfectly defensible position to take as an NC State grad and supporter, and someone who has watched UNC-CHeat benefit from academic fraud, a bogus effort that drove Valvano out, etc. However, winning an NC will improve their ability to recruit and, since they recruit in NC and other areas where we do, it is a zero sum game, so their sucess will necessarily make ours more difficult, as others note - not impossible, but more difficult, particularly where we will likely never have the financial resources or facilities they do.

unc had bogus players in the 2013 College World Series, like Hobbs Johnson who benefited from AFAM. Cheated their way there.

Wow, take a breath! I'm not being disingenuous at all. I'm not taking anything away from either team. They are playing for a Natty; I'm jealous. eweNC is really good this year! I've stated that all year. They also were on the (unusually) weaker side of the CWS Bracket. Both things can be true at the same time. OK did in fact finish 11th in the SEC with a losing Conference record. That's a fact. They got "red hot" at the right time and won their way through the Regional and Super Regional, and at least the first game of the CWS Final. Nobody is hoping more than I am that they can get "red hot" for one more day, one more game, tonight! That does not change the fact that they finished 11th in their conference. They remind me so much of our recent Final Four Basketball Team in KK's next to the last season. We caught "fire" at the right time, after a mediocre regular season, and made it to the Final Four! It was awesome and exciting…..just like OK in baseball this year. I hope they win tonight by a dozen runs! Go Sooners!
Truthfully I fail to see how UNC winning a title will make state step up. If anything it just makes it much harder for us. Who the hell is going to want to play for state? UNC with a chip is our worst nightmare. I feel for Hart if they win tonight
