Respect for Elliot's twenty year plus tenure. Tenure is loaded word in academia. For those of us living outside the university walls it seemed like a choice to give all power to a professor rather than the product, the learning of students. I can't square up the "earned" way of looking this situation. Today there is article about a young member of this team that I find inspiring. Change is hard and it's right to respect those who labored. Young people come and take their place…..including the new leaders.

Bunch of mid majors have better numbers than us, lots of guys in MLB systems have become pitching coaches in college with success. There are guys out there that deserve a chance. Just personally CC feels like Tim Beck. Overall the numbers are just too average to keep him. He can do a couple things well, but overall results are lacking

That's not fair to Avent. But I will say and have always said the average fan doesn't understand that the baseball landscape is very different than basketball or football. There effectively is no BIG - you eliminate half the country that is cold weather schools. NC is loaded with baseball talent. You aren't a private school with private school tuition rate challenged. There are so many advantages that NC Syate has in baseball that t doesn't in other sports. This job is a really good job.
