Saying if to get off my chest why I don't want Hart bad base running at 3B and he let these 3 players go
K.Smith To Duke
R.Woodson3 To Mississippi State
J.Bechtel47 To UNCW
Ok rent over

And in exchange we got Bargo and Mikey Ryan/Sherman Johnson. All of which are (or were) better players than Smith and Woodson. And Bechtel was absolutely horrible against ACC pitching, and hitting .252 in CAA play shows me he is still growing/developing

Yeah the fact of the matter is this season comes down to a couple things.

1. Losing Mahron and Dudan, the season was pretty much over at that point

2. The lack of power in the offense due to
-Regression of McHugh
-Bargo getting hurt
-Mikey Ryan getting hurt
-Regression of Fraasman

Losing all that power in the lineup plus the pitching is just too much for anyone to overcome.

Go take away Decarlo and Walker Mcduffie then remove their center fielder and SS for an extended period of time and let's see where they are.

100% Fraasman was horrible this year. If we want to talk about players that left, why not bring up Jet Gilliam too? He had a great year at Utah. McHugh wasn't good in ACC play (compared to expectations) and Bargo was a big letdown for 75% of the season.

Yup. The injuries hurt, and lack of pitching development and/or miss evals is what burned us too.

Andrews has been the same guy for 3 years (and tbh that is not good), but we still throw him out there in high leverage spots. Coop has gotten worse since a very solid freshman year. Took a couple "flyers" on Black/Garino and while Garino flashed a little, he wasn't a reliable ACC guy. If those 4 guys are just average, we have the depth we think we have and we are in a good spot regarding being on the bubble. A couple of the freshman looked okay early, but clearly we were fooled by the lack of competition. Not saying a couple of those guys cant be good, but personally I don't trust they will reach their potential here.

why not be upset about Jaros or Gilliam leaving too then? Gilliam had an awesome year at Utah, Jaros was very solid at Rutgers and had the athletic ability to play RF. Because I agree, Fraasman was very bad this year, but i certainly dont think Bechtel was the answer out in right

Yea I don't get this at all. I don't know that anyone could have taken us to 3 CWS and a mainstay in the ncaa tourney with the resources we have given Avent. It blows my mind we are on the bubble one year and people want a new coach. Be very careful what you wish for.

My personal sentiments exactly.

For a staff that usually has had a good catcher (basically since Brett Austin atleast) we were down right bad behind the dish, I don't know how decarlo never took over there

I don't really think how a guy coaches third base should have any impact on him being a head coach or not. Only thing Hart ever did that bothered me was the one time he DIDN'T send a guy in the championship game. Otherwise, I'm a fan of sending them most times, put the pressure on the other team to make the relay and tag them.

My memory of that play was that Hart did send him, but he did not go. I could be wrong, and if I am, my apologies.

I wouldn't have, no. Just playing devils advocate. The same way I wasn't upset Woodson left or bechtel leaving.

Yeah none of those guys are the difference. We did a nice job offensively with the portal. Guys like Nixon and Head continued to get better. The issue was the injuries and the slew of misses with the pitching staff recruiting. Neither HS nor the portal hit. We added a ton of guys and the o ly guys we could count on at all were on the roster last year.

other than Keatts….have you ever published your opinion that a sitting coach should leave? If you are face to face with the coach daily, I can see where it might be wise to refrain from suggesting an exit. I am not questioning your support. I am pointing out you are close to the situation.

I thought Sherman Johnson was a hit

Mikey Ryan was also a solid addition (injury at the end of the year obviously maybe derailed them

I would consider those two guys hits

Me too, pitching injuries, fraasman and mchugh not taking big steps forward in conference play, as well as getting nothing of significance from bargo wiggins or novy at dh were all too much to overcome. If fraasman and mchugh just hit at parity to last season in conference play, and one of those other three hit at dh, this season looks a whole lot different. And yes, I know that's a lot of if's…

If this question was directed to me (or I guess even if it wasn't), off the top of my head, while at NC State I've believed that Harper, Gottfried, Patrick-Swift should all be dismissed around the time they were.

I believed Doeren should have been on the hot seat in 2020 while remaining on a quasi-hot seat since then because of his failure to break through with anything more than a nine-win season. If ever there was a program that can't seem to reach another level, that is it.

I also believe Leftwich should probably be on the hot seat in 2027, and unless something positive happens that it will ultimately be her last year.

EDIT: I forgot about Santoro. I like him a lot. He's a good fella, but it was the right time to dismiss him after the 2025 season.

Avent is one of the most respected and highly regarded coaches in the country by everyone except his own fanbase. It's crazy that we have this discussion every year.

The dude has been to 22 NCAA tournaments since 1997. He's made 3 College World Series since 2013, two of which happened in the last five years, and if not for getting screwed, he's have a national championship under his belt. And now everyone is all in their feels because a team that lost TWO of the best starting pitchers in the enitre conference early in the year for the entire season is currently on the NCAA bubble.

What a spoiled little bunch we've become.

I'm not sure if that's it. We live in a fast pace college landscape now. Winning is everything. Coaches come and go as fast as players do. We have Avent and Doeren in two of our highest profile coaching seats that have been around for a long time. Some people just want change.

They have a formula that works, last thing I want to turn into is South Carolina right now if it doesn't work.

People can say what they want but Hart can find talent with the best of them. Clint just turned Dudan from a one pitch reliever into a top 50 draft pick as a starter. Bo Rob has helped guys with multiple swing adjustments that ended up making massive strides. These guys have been doing most of the daily work and recruiting for a while as it is, Avent is deferring to Hart for a lot of evals etc.

Clemson hasn't been to a CWS since 2010 and has been through three coaches in the last 10 years.

Miami hasn't been to one since 2016 and also has went through three coaches.

And we are *****ing about a coach that has been to two in the last five years. The grass isn't always greener.
