What's the word on Dudan? Not in the rotation this weekend. His exit from the game Saturday looked a little odd in my opinion and I was wondering if something was wrong.

Reliever moved to starter who has already thrown more innings than his 1st two seasons. Mismanagement of a high level arm. Hate it for him, especially in draft year.

Brutal to lead the acc in innings and then this happens on pitch 116 of an outing. Is he out for multiple weeks?

RPI is in trouble already, now at risk of losing 2 of 3 at home to #103

IMO only, I would be shocked if he ever throws again for Pack9.

Some of it got edited out I think but we talked about it on the pod. Could see this coming after the way he left on Saturday. Heartbreaker

Yep you could see his reaction after his last pitch and immediately knew something was wrong. Unbelievable

I don't know much about baseball. IMO limit him to a max of 90 pitches max per start.

In my experience with arm injuries it wasn't the 116th pitch of that game that did it. Not knowing the injury or being a doctor. But from my understanding if it wasn't the 116th pitch of this game it would have been the 30th pitch of the next.

so are you saying it was kind of inevitable?

I know people like to blame Elliott for everything, so I was just checking...

he has always seemed to take a very conservative approach, including holding marohn out earlier this year when he wanted to pitch, to be careful with him

Keep in mind I am saying this without knowing what the problem is, he could be back tomorrow for all I know.

This is just a general statement about arm injuries
It's like a rubber band. Every pitch stretches it, and over time it can get weaker, so the pitch where it tears isn't what caused it, it's just when it finally gives out

Combine that with Dudan is a slider heavy guy. Has been his whole career. Sliders are the most taxing on the arm.

That's why you see so many guys in the minors kept to strict inning limits. Teams have learned to baby those guys along and then keep them on hard pitch counts once they get into the show.

You also talking about the same guy that let Rodon throw 10 innings and over 120 pitches multiple times. He will ride a pitcher if he trust them.

He got a ton of crap from MLB people for the way he managed Rodon. Was rumored a lot of teams had him off their draft board due to it.

To add to this, I'm not sure the human arm is meant to withstand the torque of throwing 95+ mph thousands of times, year after year. TJ is more and more prevalent and it sucks to see the way Avent and Chrysler run these pitchers into the ground. Recruit better bullpen arms. The game really needs more Greg Madduxs and less Randy Johnsons.

Didnt take long to run their ace off. Looked like he could be in for a good start after the 1st. State made adjustments and just smashed the dude.

Really needed this effort from the bats. Hopefully they've got confidence throughout the lineup now.
