In which game thread was everyone ****ting on Rett? Let's bring that one back to surface
Literally nobody was ****ting on Rett Johnson. Everyone was asking why Wiggins isn't in the lineup. Wiggins, who btw has never been bad when he gets to play.
Where are you going to put Wiggins? That has always been the problem. Again I think "analytics" have made this crowd think Wiggins some superstar.
4-28 against tournament teams last year. It's a great lefty option off the bench, but the lineup is the lineup right now and they're pretty damn good.
Exactly man. I have said it before. But the thing with analytics is 1. the advanced numbers take a while to stabilize. So if a guy has limited ABs, you can see some wonky numbers.
2. The big ten is a significantly inferior conference. I think your point perfectly displays this.
3. Analytics that work in Pro ball don't translate to the college game 1 for 1.
Also Avent, Hart, and Robinson have had summer, fall and spring to evaluate these guys. I am not trying to bash the guy but read the tea leaves.
I'm fine taking some of the hit here. I really don't see a guy with a career .450 OBP as some crazy analytical stat though and I said from the beginning I didn't care if he didn't hit at all just because he gets on base at such a high clip. I always think outside the box and honestly I was more concerned with Fraasmans bat. I have also said he is blocked because of his defense and we have a good depth problem.
Really I am more shocked by Pfiefer not playing just because how much EA values defense but Sherman has been fine at third and has produced at the plate.
The lineup is fine to me, there will be some regression coming from Rhett (Unless he is just Ichiro) but that is to be expected, hopefully no one jumps ship when he has a couple of down games.
