Great pitching.

Consiglio might need to be in a full time high leverage bullpen role for us to have a big season.

Which two years ago, wouldn't have surprised many with how good he pitched. Very steady, kept everything down.

We'll take the series W. Let's get the bats in the middle of the order rolling and see what we've got

Cooper looked really good. That kid has some legit stuff. Also a great day from Andrews

Personally, I'd make CC the closer and let him have the option to pitch twice a weekend. We have some solid bullpen guys, but nobody has really shown closer stuff consistently. Cooper has that dog mentality that you need in that role, and has the stuff and is deceptive enough to shut the other team down.
Wise men speak because they have something to say. Fools speak because they have to say something

Great bounce back. Andrews was awesome. Probably could have gone the distance if the infield didn't have 49 errors. Cooper dominate too. If we can get Nance right we have 5 great arms that can win some big time series.

Yeah still try to get him to around 80 pitches through 6-7 total innings over the weekend in high leverage spots

Great outing from Heath Andrews today.

great pitching - they may look at analytics and decide who to start between Health/CC

Andrews was awesome today outside the error. And CC was our best reliever of the series. We really only had one bad inning this weekend. But that one inning cost us a chance to sweep . Hopefully Black bounces back next weekend.

Didn't understand not pitching CC as the 3rd starter but given how Andrews pitched today and how CC looked i'd 100% be good with this plan above. Need him pitching a couple of times a weekend if we need him.

Need to get the young arms some more innings IMO to have them ready for the post season as we will need them but great result to the weekend getting the W over a very game BC squad.

Ryan at the plate really impressed this week, hope he can keep that up. Go Pack.

Give me an outfield full of Rett Johnsons

Insane we had to defend so much to all the "analytics" guys

I assume this is a subtweet at me. Never had a problem playing Johnson as it's own move. Johnson is a good player and had a great week. He also had a .750 BABIP with 1 XBH these 4 games so I wonder if he's going to need more pop against better teams (Same thing happened with Sherman a few weeks ago). My guess is he'll settle in as like a 350/450/500 type player. I think most agree the offense wasn't great this week, despite his excellent week, which goes back to half of the lineup not hitting for power. That's not Rett's fault by any means, just brings up questions for the lineup as a whole

*let me start the by saying it I respect the heck out of your opinion. These are the conversations I enjoy having. Even if we disagree I much prefer them to just blaming the coach for everything

If Head, McHugh, and Bargo have even average weekends, the conversation about the offensive output looks very different.

Johnson is kind of the perfect example of why I take analytics with a grain of salt at the college level.

BABIP analysis works great in pro baseball where defenses are elite and consistent. College defenses aren't. Defenses simply aren't good enough to consistently handle the pressure a player like Johnson puts on them. His speed and ability to put the ball in play force rushed throws, bad reads, and mistakes that turn into hits.

At the college level a high BABIP isn't always luck sometimes it's just what happens when defenses can't execute

I expected the bats to struggle a little this weekend as our bats haven't face plus pitching for weekend

FSU just swept WF this past weekend and dominated them-should be a fun weekend

What makes all the personnel conversations interesting is we are talking about good players - whether it is with the lineup or with the pitching staff. It is clear the staff loves Heath Andrews profile as a starter, so it is what it is there. Find a place to get CC more than 1 inning on the weekend if that is going to be the case.
The lineup I think will sort itself out over the course of conference play. The stat padding is over and we will see who can handle ACC arms and I suspect eventually those will be the guys in the lineup.
