First off, can't even believe I'm responding to you at this point.

Nance & Shaffner were 1a/1b as State's best guys out of the bullpen last year and threw 54 & 37 respectively. Shaffner with more bounce back & Nance with more length.

2 years ago it was Dudan throwing 38, but you also had SVD throw 37 in an abbreviated season + Coop throwing 42

You can keep going. Lawson & Fritton, Villaman & Lawson, Justice & Villaman

I'd say this year it will probably be Nance and Hemrick as the two names we talk about eat a ton of innings in big relief spots.

But numbers aren't real. And neither are results.


You said it - 38 innings for Dudan 2 years ago. I am not removing potentially my best starter for 38 innings out of the pen. A starter will throw upwards of 80-100 without looking.

I was wrong. It was 48.

And you should look, State's third starter has consistently thrown 60-65innings going back at least 6 seasons with 2021 being the exception

Yeah, I can't see how these balks are any different than the pick off move he's always had. They haven't shown a real good angle of one yet, but looks the same as it always does to me.

I was talking to one of the players mother and she said today was the first day outside for their team. Weather has kept them inside.

You would think they would all be itching to get in then. Not sure what you're saving in bottom of the 8th. I mean if you bring in a guy for 10 pitches or so you can still use him in a pinch on Sunday.
