A close review goes against us. It's definitely baseball season.
Some posters like to keep it real. Real dumb.

Nance is in the right spot. If there's any program's fanbase in the country that should see the value in bullpen arms, then it should be NC State. State's "closer" has almost always thrown a similar number of innings as the 3rd starter.
FSU is the best example of why you need a bullpen. 3 starters have been really good over the past 2 years, but they've lost a ton of games from the 6th inning onwards.
Nance is still going to get a ton of innings - being able to choose the spot into which he's used is invaluable in locking down wins.
How many did Dudan throw last year. Your comment is as if you are the authority here. There is certainly room for debate on this topic.
First off, can't even believe I'm responding to you at this point.
Nance & Shaffner were 1a/1b as State's best guys out of the bullpen last year and threw 54 & 37 respectively. Shaffner with more bounce back & Nance with more length.
2 years ago it was Dudan throwing 38, but you also had SVD throw 37 in an abbreviated season + Coop throwing 42
You can keep going. Lawson & Fritton, Villaman & Lawson, Justice & Villaman
I'd say this year it will probably be Nance and Hemrick as the two names we talk about eat a ton of innings in big relief spots.
But numbers aren't real. And neither are results.

You said it - 38 innings for Dudan 2 years ago. I am not removing potentially my best starter for 38 innings out of the pen. A starter will throw upwards of 80-100 without looking.

Yeah, I can't see how these balks are any different than the pick off move he's always had. They haven't shown a real good angle of one yet, but looks the same as it always does to me.

Well this isn't an ideal start

I know it's early and we are trying a lot of different things but haven't seen a lot from Rhett. Thought Wiggins looked good in PR. Wondering how long we stick with Rhett.

Pull him now before runs score?

Likely because of his play in LF, that ball he ran down Wednesday vs Winthrop was impressive

Princeton only bring 6 pitchers to Raleigh for the weekend (1 starter 1 reliever for each day)?

I was talking to one of the players mother and she said today was the first day outside for their team. Weather has kept them inside.
