IMO, it won't.

I think they have two options...make Frank Anderson the interim coach for the season coming up and then go full on search in 2026 OR hire Josh Elander as the HC and keep it moving. Elander played for Jim Schlossnagle at TCU, worked for Dave Van Horn at Arkansas for a year before heading to UT with Vitello. He's been the main recruiter for all those studs at UT.

He'll be 35 next year so he's still young but he's got the pedigree and big time baseball experience having both played and coached in the CWS and recruited a national championship team.

Avent haters will have a hard time with this - Avent being on a candidate list for what is currently one of the top jobs in college baseball.

Tennessee fans aren't going to want a coach from NC State on the back end of his career. I love EA and I'm sure he would be successful, but those people ain't gonna want him.
