TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER: Smith, Woodson Enter Transfer Portal

With NC State's baseball season is over now is the time players will start to enter the transfer portal. Here is a list of the additions, including right-handed pitcher Derrick Smith and infielder Ryder Woodson.

As each NC State player enters we will update the tracker below!

6/3: Third baseman Ryan Jaros has entered the transfer portal according to his father, Ken Jaros.

6/2: Trey Bentley will enter the transfer portal.

5/28: Jake Bechtel will enter the transfer portal.

5/26: Jacob Dienes will enter the transfer portal.

5/24: Eli Pillsbury will enter the transfer portal.

And the initial assertion was not that he would be drafted. It was saying he may do what basketball players have done and put their name in the portal while looking at options. A number of those basketball players are not getting drafted.

Right. Before this season, Smith was definitely talked about as a draft guy and it was a forgone conclusion on these boards that this would be his last year with State. I have no idea if he'll get drafted or not, but the MLB draft is different than others, and as we know a lot of times who gets drafted comes down to who is willing to sign for what amount. Stranger things have happened than a guy that was thought of as one of the best relievers in the country coming into this season getting drafted.

I remember when he said he was cancelling his membership.....ah, the good old days....

This place would be so much better without him here...and James could (should?) make that happen. Oh well, not my site...

The pitch in that video is not much of a traditional slider. Not 12-6 either, but also not a clear slider. That's just one sample though.

Again you are wrong. A slider is a lot easier on the arm to throw vs a true "Curveball", which is why you don't see it as much.

Feels like 6,000 is in sight.

- 25 teams already have more than 20 players in the portal
