Yeah I agree about Dudan. I mean they have the guy throwing 90% sliders. That doesn't seem to profile to a starter. The bullpen guy to me that does potentially profile as a starter is Shaffner. He has a 3 pitch mix and command of all 3. I could see him in the rotation with Nance and Marohn. Need to find some bullpen help to go with Dudan.stategrad06 said:

He is a high end reliever for sure - but lots of guys make the jump to the rotation and struggle and go back to the pen becuase they dont flash as starters. I think Dudan can but being able to dominate with the fastball is a big deal. Part of what has made RM and Anderson so good, more effective than even Dom, is they have the ability to throw FB for a strike anytime they want to. They don't miss with the fastball. Same for Shaffner. FB doesnt have to be Dudan's best pitch, but he needs to be able to pound the zone with it and not let guys sit on slider.
Yes, fair statement. Not suggesting that there would have been a different outcome, but we lost the regional in the 1st inning on Friday. Keep this team together and get a few transfers/stellar recruits and next year could be a good one.
I wonder if McHugh could play a COF spot and let Novy play 1st. Novy looks big to play on the left side of the IF. Also, what little I saw of Woodson this weekend, it didn't look like he moved like a SS.stategrad06 said:

Novy is going to need to play everyday for us - I think he can play 3B everyday - but I don't know that - he slots as a DH if he can't unless you move McCugh somewhere else and Novy plays 1B.
