In an ideal world you go to Nance in the rotation, get Smith some innings down the stretch, start to stretch Shaffner out so he can be the longer relief guy and then have Dudan and Smith on the back end like last year. Andrews as another longer relief guy.
Shaffner is stretched out, IMO, as his last two appearances he's thrown 3 innings and he's gone 3 or more in almost half of his appearances (7 of 15).
The key, IMO, is getting D Rock back "healthy" and up to speed for the stretch run.
The current starters on average pitch into at least the 5th inning.
Ideal would be Consiglio getting his sht together and start throwing strikes more often than not.
Consiglio course correcting takes a very good pitching staff to a great one, IMO.
