Campbell beat ECU 3-2
UNCG beat WF 4-0
Fla Atlantic beat Miami 2-1
UT Rio Grande Valley beat DBU 15-5 (I have never heard of UTRGV LOL)
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

State has been iffy so far but Duke has to be the national disappointment through the first few games.
Y'all means ALL.

Buckeyes up 10-9 on Alabama with only 7 hits. Bama only with 1 error. All 10 runs earned.

Justin Haire should be the next big time hire nationally.

college baseball is blowing up in the South - $100+ tickets to games all over the place. Tailgating by students everywhere in the SEC and ACC

The UF/Miami series is $150 to get in the door

Clemson/SC series is absolutely electric-the fans are on top the visiting bullpen. I think you will need some security down there

I think State is a little behind but I feel it building-I think college baseball is next big thing to produce revenue. The conference tourneys need a better format but it is hard to develop a solid tourney with 18 teams

Agree, that's part of why I'm so frustrated with the state of our renovations. Very little has been done in terms of improving the fan amenities, there has been minimal communication about it, and even when they are completed there is still not going to be a ton of seating. Wish we could get capacity to somewhere around 6-7K.

I believe all of the red chairbacks are held by season ticket holders and you can't get very good seats if you by season tickets. Despite that, it's pretty rare the red chairback seats are at 75% capacity or more. Wish we had more area for GA fans and for the love of God can we do something in left field?

I know they're planning on changing the hill in down the 3B line at some point but there's no consolidated area for students and that hill sucks, super steep and not very big. Wish we had some bleachers out in left like UVA does or an area like Tennessee does. Was watching the Florida/Miami game earlier and their setup in Gainesville looks awesome.

Fan amenities will come in Phase III.

Put a beer garden in left field - Clemson did a great job with that

This has always been the plan. Not sure why fans don't understand this. It was laid out in the 3 part plan initially given when the renovations were announced. But a 6-7K seat facility isn't going to happen. We barely have 2,000 fans in attendance unless it's Duke/unc/FSU/Clemson

We have had great crowds (with tickets that are extremely inaccessible to get your hands on) for Duke, Clemson, Carolina, Wake, Virginia, FSU & ECU in years past. In 2022 we had awesome crowds early in the year after the CWS run. I think Stanford will draw good crowds now as well that they're in the league, especially with Rintaro on the roster.

Part of my post outlined that it's hard to get tickets and we don't do anything to actually get people to try and attend games. We could easily get 1-2K students regularly at games in my opinion if we made an actual effort to get them there and had adequate student seating, but we don't. We're in a city of nearly 500K where the nearest college/minor league baseball team aside from us is ~30 minutes away. We could be a real baseball attraction in Raleigh but getting single game tickets are tough, especially when the only accessible ones are SRO or the bleachers on top of the hill in left.

Exactly what phase are we in now? Renovations were announced in Jan 2022, and in between 2022 and 2023 there were new seats put in, a new playing surface, LED lights and a new scoreboard.

Obviously now construction is going on down right field line for hitting facility. But quite literally nothing else has actually been done from the start of the 2023 season until the start of the 2025 season. Additionally, there has been minimal communication on this made by the WPC & athletic department.

I understand that the whole thing came in phases, been when exactly are these phases going to be completed?

A week or so ago there were interviews with a couple of the players after a game. You could see plastic sheets hanging down over one of the doorways. Maybe they have started upgrades to the locker area.

Are we promoting the idea that the ACC isn't good? I am not sure the point of underscoring midweek losses by the conference. I would rather underscore midweek wins by the conference. I bet there are a bunch of solid wins out there for some reason we aren't highlighting.

Feel free to highlight them then. No one is stopping you. This is just a thread to keep up with big wins/losses depending on how you look at it. And at the end of the day, we are HOPING that some of these midweek losses by ACC teams will affect their RPI when it comes time to host and we can take advantage of that.

The Richmond loss for NC State doesn't look bad. Bama is 4-0 in the SEC and beat Tenn last night, so another loss that isn't bad. Ohio State stinks, so that'll be a bad loss at the end of the year.

Gotcha

I think a strong league is a good thing. Do you think the SEC is lamenting how strong their league was in basketball when they got in 14 of 16?

Miami has fallen off a cliff-I think they will finish under .500 in the conference

Their pitching is really shaky

Clemson and FSU seem to be a step above after March - especially Clemson. Taking 2 of 3 from GT at GT is a good weekend for Clemson

There is plenty of time for a few teams to put it together

I haven't been able to watch quite as much as I would like to have, but it feels like the ACC maybe isn't as strong at the top as it has been but has even more depth this year.

As for Va Tech, they have some limitations as a program with facilities, resources, and location. But, look out for them as a program who punches above their weight moving forward. They have a hard working and very good staff under Szefc. Recently, they have come into NC and grabbed some guys who I think we should have been on. They work hard and smart on the trail.
