This is some really bad and depressing baseball these guys are playing this season. From the cheap ownership and lack of moves, to the lack of intensity from our geriatric managers and high paid players. It's a disaster. Michael Harris has regressed every year and is completely lost at the plate. Our bottom 3 should be in Gwinnett. Our bullpen is awful. Our starters, aside from Grant Holmes, can't make it through the 6th inning.

We need Acuna back to hit at the top of the lineup and push Harris down to 7-8. Then we can see if we are really cooked. Right now, there doesn't appear to be much hope. These guys lack fire and personality.

Ian Anderson will meet the Braves in Denver tomorrow. He'll be available out of the pen when Elder starts tomorrow. They haven't announced whether Smith-Shawver will start Tuesday. My guess is he will and Anderson would just provide depth during the series at Coors Field.

Acuña is in Gwinnett’s lineup in Louisville tonight. This doesn’t erase the possibility he could be activated tomorrow. But given the travel, a Saturday or Sunday return seems more likely. It all depends on how he feels when he awakes and talks to the Braves staff tomorrow

Glad Ronnie is finally back. But it seems to have cost us some starting pitching the last few days!

Gonna be fun to watch Ronnie's return tonight, but this team gives me a pit in my stomach. Poorly managed and guys like Albies and Harris II have been atrocious at the plate. At least MH2 gives us elite defense. I fear this is the end for Ozzie in Atlanta. Hopefully the power of friendship can spark something for him.

I can't watch this movie anymore. Seen it for well over a year now. Would love to see a new manager in place next season.

It is really bad at this point. What a way to waste an unbelievable return for Acuna. This team can't seem to get out of its own way. Iglesias can't throw the slider anymore. Guys can't hit with RISP. Base running blunders galore due to mental glitches (*** Eli?) and a very poor 3rd base coach. Mix that in with a manager who is asleep and has zero fire and you have what we are seeing now. Major changes are needed.

Schoenfield: Well, there is only one correct answer here, and Buster got first pick. I'll throw out Atlanta, which classifies as disappointing even as it had to play through the injuries to Acuña and Strider. Both are back now, but the Braves still have other issues: Raisel Iglesias keeps giving up home runs and has four losses; they've had two other walk-off losses over the past 10 days from other relievers; Michael Harris II is struggling to get his OPS over .600; and Ozzie Albies has an OBP under .300. That season-beginning 0-7 road trip to Los Angeles and San Diego certainly put the team in an early hole.

I think I saw a graphic on Saturday night that the Braves have been in 21 one run games this season, by far the most in the MLB. Obviously we know how most of those games turned out based on our record.

Hopefully having Acuna back will spark the rest of the lineup and get some bats going. Pitching, specifically relief pitching, is my bigger worry with this team. Kimbrel has been pitching really well in AAA this season, might be time to give him a shot in the bullpen.
