Yea you wont have to worry about UVA being coached.CLTWolf said:
UVA brings back a TON of dudes from last year's squad, I think it's something like 6 of the main dudes, guys like Godbout, Ford and Didawick who can play.
IIRC, they brought in a couple arms from like D2 and D3 which O'Connor has had success with before and they return pretty much all their big arms as well. They'll be really good. Very well coached too.

Surprised no East Carolina
Happened to State also in a way with Fritton and Ty Head.tau06 said:
I haven't followed baseball portal stuff at all if it wasn't NCSU related... Did UVA bring in a bunch? I know they were good last year but thought they lost a ton of their hitters?
Looks like they had two guys they expected to lose go undrafted and come back. How nice that must be....
Agreed. State did a really nice job holding on to that pitching rotation for this season. Hitting will come around. We may not have the power bats that we're used to seeing but should be able to put up enough runs to complement the arms we have.Alex Gee said:
I don't think there's so much to workout that a preseason ranking of 13 isn't warranted. We return a lot of great pieces and had a nice run in the portal. Lost some good offensive pieces, but I'm never worried about that
Most of the teams in this ranking are doing the same but very few have the bullpen and weekend rotation that State has. A lot of firepower was lost from super regional teams across the board
I haven't really looked into Louisville much but I wonder if the internal issues that McDonnell has had with the admin might be affecting them in some way. His name has been attached to just about every big opening the last couple years so sounds like he's looking to leave and/or get more money. Strange fall off tho.Jtilley said:Yea you wont have to worry about UVA being coached.CLTWolf said:

Looking at those rankings just made me randomly think what the hell has happened to Louisville? Most must think they will be down again this year.
The staff really did. If they can cobble together some power (which they do most years) I think we are going to be really good. I think you see Nixon really take a step and then Sosa will have give some power and hopefully take a step as well. If that happens and you get a guy like Hogue healthy and back I like what the lineup could be. Having Jaros or Ossenfort hit like their profiles say they might would be huge. Even if it's not a super high average like AMac or Pennington last year if the power is there it turns the lineup into something completely different when paired with this rotation. The power arms we have along with the pitchability of guys like Marohn, Consiglio, and hopefully a healthy Willadsen is really exciting. Especially if Wimbush and and Andrews are ready to roll like it looks. And then add in Fritton hopefully getting it figured out and Van Dam back healthy.... Lot of options and a lot to be excited about. I'm sure some will not "hit" compared to what we hope but with so many legit options we will figure it out. Should be a fun season.pantherpack said:Agreed. State did a really nice job holding on to that pitching rotation for this season. Hitting will come around.
