The only thing midweek about this game is the day it's on. Nothing about its context or its outcome has anything to do with a midweek game (he also threw Saturday btw when we didn't have a midweek game last week…so the whole routine thing…not an excuse).

I mean…even if you wanted to start him for midweek consistency…you got exactly what you wanted. Up 10 runs after 4 and he had thrown about 40 pitches. Get him out then!

I don't really get the complaints, this game is only meaningless as it relates to this tournament. I'd say it's definitely important if we want to try and sneak in the Top 8 National Seeds and you see a lot of other top teams losing to aid that effort. Would've preferred to get Marohn after 4 but even so, it isn't the end of the world.

This game has absolutely nothing to do with us getting a top 8. Winning an ACC championship would. And I'd rather have the full stable to do that.
Zero people here are saying play to lose. Quite the opposite actually. We are saying play to win it all.
I want the ACC first. That's why I don't like using those guys for more than 30 pitches.

Look I get it, but it's not like we threw Highfill or Whitaker. We threw our fourth starter in a week where we will play (at most) four games.

You're not gonna get any length from him but he could get you an inning or 2 if needed on Sunday. I was perfectly fine with starting him but I thought he should've been pulled when we went up 10-0

Not nearly to the effectiveness that would've been nice to have available.
How great was it last week to hand him the ball against wake to win a damn series for 4 innings and 60 pitches? That's out the door, man. If we get to Sunday and are spent on arms it's going to be so damn frustrating

It wasn't how I would've handled the pitching, but it's done now and can't be undone. No point in arguing about it.
