Battle for seeds 3 and 4.

FSU 18-11 (Season over. Clinched a 3 or 4 seed)

NC State 17-11 (Clinches top 4 with rain out, win over Wake or UVA loss)

UVA 17-12 (Clinches 4 seed with a win over VT and an NC State loss)

Not sure why I wrote all that out. Pack needs a rain out, win over Wake or a UVA loss for the all important top four seed in the conference tournament.

FSU/GT game was suspended after 7 innings. They are scheduled to complete that game at 2 PM today with FSU leading 7-6

Serious question…how are we ranked 17 with our SOS and winning so many series against top 20 teams? Is it the mid-week losses? But they were against legit programs. Doesn't add up.

Well, a visit to Mitch's and the PR wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize.

I think it is mostly due to dropping out entirely early on due to being swept a few times. So many other really good programs, it's hard to jump them once you fall behind. Mid week is part of it, but they seem to more look at the week as a whole for the rankings. Like if you lose the mid week and take two of three on the weekend, you went 2-2 on the week.

Yeah, the two sweeps to Ga Tech and Louisville hurt us in the standings and the polls. We have been fighting uphill all year to recover. Then the mid week games we've dropped have held us back from having big weeks rising in the polls.

With that said, I love the way the team is playing right now. Would much rather struggle a little early and then get hot and be playing your best baseball when it counts.

The conference has had six teams in the top ten at one point or another during the year. Even though we have a great record against those teams we're still anywhere from five to nine wins behind them in total wins. That has also kept our rpi below those teams despite whipping them head to head.

Does anyone have the Pack's current rpi? Okay I found Warren Nolan.
