NC State freshman pitcher Dominic Fritton has earned two Freshman All-American honors over the past week, including First Team Freshman All-America accolades from Perfect Game. The NCBWA also tabbed Fritton a Second Team Freshman All-American selection.

Fritton, who earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors in May, had a stellar first season with the Wolfpack. Fritton made 17 total pitching appearances in his first season in Raleigh with nine starts and eight relief appearances, ranking third on the roster with 62.2 innings pitched and 75 strikeouts.

Fritton ranked first among all NC State starting pitchers with a 3.59 ERA, earning his first-career victory after tossing 6.1 innings against Belmont. The left-hander allowed just one run and struck out six batters without allowing a walk in his second collegiate start.

The freshman pitcher also shined in ACC play, pitching 4.1 scoreless frames with seven strikeouts in his ACC debut at Miami on March 12. He led all NC State pitchers with 56 strikeouts and two saves in league action this past season.

As a reliever, Fritton tied for the team lead with three saves despite only making eight relief appearances. He also led all Wolfpack pitchers (minimum 6 IP) by limiting opposing batters to just a .211 batting average against him.

The left-hander allowed two earned runs or fewer in 13 of his 16 appearances, including two scoreless starts and three scoreless bullpen outings.

Fritton will join fellow battery mate Jacob Cozart at the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp on Sunday in Cary, North Carolina. Cozart and Fritton are just two of 56 premier non-draft eligible college players invited to this summer's National Team Training Camp. The training camp will feature a five-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series from June 25-29.
