There are four ACC hosts, so those can be ruled out for NC State should they make it.

Stanford, Oklahoma State, and Indiana State seem unlikely from a travel perspective, but the Wolfpack was sent to TCU in 2015.

That leaves the half (eight) that are SEC schools and Coastal Carolina for NCSU if they are in.

On one hand I would love to travel to an SEC school because I enjoy seeing other big P5 facilities, as well as other new places that I have never been to. It is not really about me though.

I think if you are NC State, it is pretty simple, you would prefer Coastal.

Vanderbilt

I do think we get in, but won't feel good until I see our name.

Assuming we do, give me Indiana State all day. Feels like La. Tech from 2021. That's unlikely though.

So, of the most likely possibilities, give me Coastal. We still owe them for the "let's not stop the game for a rain delay until people are falling down and the bases are loaded in the 9th" debacle that ended in a CCU national championship.

My take is, from an NC State point of view, I'd want the regional 'across' from Coastal, so that if the Wolfpack won they'd likely play in Conway in Supers for the CWS berth.

That basically means a harder regional, but if you get through it's a much better chance at reaching Omaha.

The key to that is having a 4-seed with a top-notch starter. Then the host possibly loses their first game, NC State then wins its first game and is rewarded with an average team without its best arm. Then NCSU is sitting pretty in the regional final waiting for an opponent.

All of that, of course, is speculation until the Wolfpack is announced as being in.

15 of the top 16 teams are hosting a regional

Campbell (14) is the only one not to host

Auburn (19) is their replacement

John Cohen is the Chairman of the Committee… Auburns AD

Campbell should be HEATED
