We haven't had strong pitching consistently under Avent. Rodon era and 2021. That's pretty much it. It's really never been a strength. Of course our last pitching coach won a natty 2 years ago lol

You said we didn't have strong pitching, I provided names that refuted that statement. Those names won a lot of ball games. I mean sht dude, Rogers and Sterry won 11 games the same year, IIRC. Joey Devine was almost unhittable as a FR closer in '03. Those three were FILTHY.
Of course they were spread out over various teams, that's how time works. haha

Since 1997 when Elliott took over we've played in 7 title games as mentioned above. Only one other school has made more appearances in the ACC title game than us over that time period and that's FSU with legend Mike Martin Sr. with 11.

Ga Tech - 7 (won 5 all with Danny Hall)
NC State - 7 (zero wins)
Clemson - 6 (2 wins all with Jack Leggett)
unc - 5 (4 wins. 3 with Fox and 1 with Forbes)
Wake - 4 (3 wins all with George Greer in 98,99 and 01. Probably gets another this year)
UVA - 4 (2 wins all with Brian O'Conner)
Miami - 2 (1 and that was with legend Jim Morris who also won a bunch at Ga Tech before the MIA gig)
duke - 1 (1 win)
Va Tech - 1 (zero wins)
Maryland - 1 (zero wins)
Louisville - 1 (zero wins)
