Good move canceling the game today

Not sure why they didn't play a doubleheader yesterday given today's forecast. Wonder if it was proposed?

There was no benefit to us for playing another game against a team with an RPI in the 200s and a double header always runs the risk of having pitching issues. We got a series win, nobody had to throw too many pitches, and we get a day of rest before a Tuesday game and then flying to ND for a series starting on Thursday. I won't be surprised if the Tuesday game gets cancelled either if there's any type of weather at all.

Worked out great, all the starting pitchers got medium amount of work. Sunday is a day off ( Cozart gets a game and half off. The schedule changes now with school out. Practice Monday, play Tuesday, practice Wed morning and travel to ND. Play ( Thursday- Sunday). Repeat the same the next 2 weeks.

Tuesdays weather is 69 and partly cloudy. 0% of precip. Weather in South Bend Thurs-Sat is Mid 60's slight chance of precip. I'm feeling a sweep is almost necessary.

A. For the reasons outlined above by CLT for having a bit of break in the middle of conference season during exams.

B. Because when you make the schedule, you don't anticipate being in a position where your RPI matters to your post season aspirations. Unfortunately RPI does matter right now, and therefore, we have no great incentive to play the games if at all possible.

I'm sure we hoped when we scheduled them that they'd be a little bit better than they are, They typically play a pretty decent OOC schedule, so you wouldn't think their RPI would be as bad as it is, but they've been bad in conference play, so it is what it is.

Not the start I was expecting today. Yikes.
