Fly ball to center and runner scores. Runner on first moves up to 2nd.

Bunt down to Groover and he makes the play and throws the runner out at first. Smith moves to 3rd.

2 outs. FSU up 1-0.

Another blooper and they get another run. 2-0.

I didn't see the first one but there was nothing bad about the Candy man and his effort on that last bloop. The run was scoring no matter if he holds up might as try to dive and make a play. I appreciate the effort.

Yup. Only question is if they shouldn't have dove. I don't mind trying to make the play, but typical baseball wisdom probably says they should've pulled up and kept it in front of them.

I wouldn't say incredibly tough. Let's just say they were 50/50 plays, and we went 0 for 2 and it's cost us a couple runs.

Marcy was playing about two steps in front of the fence. Kid blooped one about 30-40 feet over Harrison, Marcy can charging for a sliding catch and it glanced off his glove.

Only beef with TC is he maybe could've kept the runner at first and that third run likely doesn't cross. Don't think you can get upset about that though, trying to make a play with two outs.

Don't have an issue with the effort on the Marcy play…but the route didn't seem as direct as it could have been. The sun was tough too though I'll say.

I don't disagree with that, but I don't think you need an elite fielder in LF. Trice has been as close to a disaster out there defensively as you can get. Nixon struggles against left handed pitching, so is better suited to platoon at the DH. Marcy makes the routine plays and can hit both right and left handers.

The answer ultimately is Soles. Just no clue when or if he will be back.

He strikes out so much that you just can't afford to play him. Defense doesn't move the needle enough to counter that.

The triumvirate of Marcy, Nixon and Trice are hitting .290. Take out Trice and the duo of Marcy and Nixon are getting .322. Not sure that Dom P would swing the stick that well.
