Going to be an interesting few weeks, because this team is CLOSE to being very good. They just can't get out of their own way.

What should the ideal lineup be?

C- Cozart
1st- Serrano
2nd- Green
SS- Harrison
3rd- Groover

You saw Harrison get a look at SS today, but i still think Green is too decent of a bat to leave out of the lineup. Ultimately, I don't think this will happen, but with Greens recent struggles at SS, might be worth a look.

OF/DH- Canderlia, Nolan, Nixon, Marcy

That is assuming Sole isn't close to returning. Trice should come off the bench. Marcy and Nixon swing the bat well. Don't see Nolan leaving the lineup either. Peebles can get ABs as well.

We have the depth and versatility to vary the lineup based on the opponent, which I thought at the start of the year was a strength and still do. I don't think you take Green out of the lineup entirely, so I think flipping he and Harrison in the middle of the infield is likely the route that will be taken. Maybe do more defensive substituting of Heavner later in games. I haven't felt the team was very far off anyway personally, so just tweak things slightly. Having a long stretch at home against teams that maybe aren't as good as we've had to face to this point should help get things back on track. Win 10 or 11 in this stretch and we'd be in great shape.

Green's bat is valuable. He showed that last night. He needs to be no worse than a DH. Soles needs to get healthy. Nixon needs to be in the line up. Harrison at SS is good. He just got excited last night with his 1st throw from SS. I'd be curious to see Serrano in the OF. Trice? I'm still mad at him for trying to run in from 25 yards out to catch a pop up that Green could have caught by taking 3 steps to his right. That eventually cost us 5 runs
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

seems like that could be the lineup going forward with Peebles/Trice potentially working in based on matchups.

IMO our rotation is set, and it has been very solid overall.

For the pen going forward- priority should be Lawson/Highfill/Rio Britton/Miralia for matchups. Beyond that, hope Kelly/Baker Nelson/Labriolia/Shaffner can be the good versions of themselves if called upon
