How many currently playing former NC State student athletes are there?

And how many of them could afford to make a contribution of this magnitude?

I feel like we've had a lot of nfl players over the years, especially recently. Just surprised is all.

Doesn't mean they haven't donated after they retired, based on that wording. Despite the big numbers on contracts, a lot of that money isn't guaranteed, so making million dollar donations is still a pretty big deal when your career could end tomorrow. That money can go away just as quickly as it came. We've had NFL guys, sure, but not many that made it to their second big money contract.
